Café Central, founded in 1813, is as much a part of Tangier's history and culture as the Grand Café de Paris or the Café Hafa. Located on the Place du Petit Socco, in the heart of the medina's action, it was here that the leading figures of Tangier life at the beginning of the ^20th century met. In the heart of the Mer Sultan district, Vertigo is one of the trendiest places in the area for those who want to spend a pleasant evening in a 60's atmosphere. In the bar and its theatre in the basement, the establishment offers an interesting program. Improv games, concerts or even an electro evening... It is like an old Spanish residence, filled with old antiques, old chandeliers, paintings and mirrors on the walls. Within the sumptuous Namaskar Palace worthy of the 1,001 nights, the Nomad Bar occupies the roof of the hotel. A small beldi coffee run by women where it is nice to take a break on the wooden benches of the terrace while staying in the effervescence of the medina or on the pretty benches inside. A good coffee, a pastry, a look at the superb handmade bags and pouches for sale, and we left! It is also possible to have lunch on site. The menu is simple, but you will find some tagines and sandwiches made with batbout, a delicious Moroccan bread. Also some delicacies to eat for dessert.

Leaning against the walls of the old medina, Rick's Café is an exact replica of the mythical café from the film Casablanca. The elegant and unostentatious atmosphere deliciously plunges fans back into the traditional oriental decor of the 1940s. In the evening, an American musician plays jazz tunes on the piano. The restaurant's à la carte menu features international cuisine and an interesting selection of fish and seafood dishes. Since 1956, a pretty café under the arcades marking the entrance to the Habous, very touristy, but nevertheless very nice. From the terrace, you can enjoy the view of the elegant square with the Mohammedi mosque and the water fountains. You can have a hearty breakfast before venturing into the Habous alleys or eat pizzas, tajines or pastillas at mealtimes. The Minzah Hotel's café is located in the hotel's large courtyard patio. The tables are sheltered under blue umbrellas, matching the tiled walls of the gallery. In this pleasant, slightly old-fashioned setting, where photos of Tangier and foreign personalities remind us who the guests of the grand El-Minzah hotel were, the atmosphere is one of relaxation. Over a glass of your favourite wine, you can contemplate the views of old Tangier from the beginning of the 20th century that line the walls and tell the story of the city. Sometimes, the bar comes alive with an artist at the piano.

Located on the Malabata road, bordering the bay of Tangier, Arena is much more than just a café. It is part of a complex that offers everything at your fingertips. Have a drink, dine, satisfy a small hunger, get your hair done, change money, check your emails at the cybercafé... all this is possible here. Held by a real Tangierese very friendly, this coffee is a perfect stop on the way back from a trip to Tetouan or Chefchaouen for example. You can also take away and enjoy a walk with a view on Spain.

With its wicker seats and yellow cushions, this coffee always and allows you to take a drink watching the bustle of the street.

This bar served as a model for Rick's Café in the Casablanca film. It is in a retro atmosphere that you can sip wine or cocktails by listening to the pianist. A pleasant, outdated charm.
