We love Nawal El Hriti's beautiful boutique. Fans of high-end shopping will be amazed: each caftan, tunic or gandoura is a hand-woven work of art. The materials are noble, the colors vibrant and the finishing perfect. A native of Mellah and very attached to Moroccan traditions, the designer works exclusively with local artisans whom she insists on paying properly. The prices are certainly expensive but here we do not skimp on the quality nor on the respect of the small hands.

Tangier's iconic bookshop, founded in 1949 and frequented by writers in love with the city such as Tennessee Williams, Jean Genet and Paul Bowles, has also been a landmark for Moroccan authors such as Mohamed Choukri and Tahar Ben Jelloun. Under the management of Rachel Muyal, it became a literary center of international renown until the late 90s. A quartet of French and Moroccan buyers took over the bookshop in 2023. Their ambition is to restore the bookshop to its former glory with a host of events.

Open since 2013, this concept store is run by two women. And not just any of them, because they are bursting with energy and creativity! One, Aïda, is a former film costume designer and the other, Yasmine Hurel, is a former haute couture designer. The two of them have joined forces to create this original shop where many products from all over Morocco are on sale, including Rock da Kasbah items and Marie-Laure Godinot's shop Au fil de Tanger. Nice tea room upstairs. A favorite address.

The craft complex presents a vast series of shops listed by profession: it is the domain of coppersmiths, tinsmiths, armourers, wood, leather or jewellery craftsmen, not forgetting carpet dealers. All these craftsmen are state-qualified, which is a guarantee of quality. They propose objects with an often interesting quality-price ratio. This is particularly true for small leather goods. Here, no need to make the effort to haggle: prices are fixed! The objects of the souk, but without the hustle and bustle.

Argamine, it is above all the assurance of natural products from the oil factory is located in the same enclosure as the shop, which will allow you to discover the secrets of this precious oil. This shop is our favourite among flopée of companies offering argan oil, because it allows traceability and the control of the products. All products are certified organic with Ecocert label. Located across the street, the Mohand Ihmadi store is very Rich in Fossils. It can organise excursions in the region.

The first implantation of the Fnac on the African continent! 3,000 m ² spread over two floors. The store has a "Fnac it" space dedicated to Hi-Tech accessories, a Fnac-café, as well as the traditional record areas, toys, video games, Dvds and technologies (photos, hi-fi, computer, TV…), a show-box (debates, readings, concerts…) and a reading space with view of the ocean.

Founded in 2013, this non-profit organization aims to provide a trade to women with disabilities who have not had the chance to receive an education. By joining the embroidery workshop, these women thus earn an independent living and are collectively responsible for the life of the association. You will find here a nice choice of table linen, mixed clothes, as well as layette. All in 100% natural fabrics (cotton, linen), embroidered or hand crocheted, with the possibility of placing a personalized order.

Specialized in leather work, the Galerie des Tanneurs is one of the references in Marrakech in terms of leather goods and custom-made products. Luggage, clothes, shoes, bags and accessories, there's something for everyone! The articles can even be made to measure or reproduced identically in 48 hours and in one of the 150 colours on the colour chart. Quality remains the watchword of the brand, which has forged a very good reputation, and now has another shop in Majorelle near the gardens and rue Mouassine, a stone's throw from the Café Arabe.

There are no craftsmen at work here, just a sort of 8,000 m² mega-supermarket with escalator. The place is rather kitschy, as evidenced by the two equestrian statues that greet you at the entrance. Nevertheless, we dare you not to find the product you're looking for, as you'll find everything you could possibly want in the way of handicrafts. Shelves overflowing with tea glasses, poufs, babouches, photophores and tutti quanti. Everything is labeled and prices are fixed, which is handy if you don't have much time to buy gifts or if you hate bargaining.

At first, the Jiddi Mohamed boutique, now known as the 110 Medina but formerly known as the Etoile Bazaar, looks like all of the souk. Yet, by searching a little, there are real pearls, especially with regard to leather bags and pouches. Good value for money.

Renovation work began in 2023 - for at least a year - in the souk of Fondouk Chejra, the weavers' market, which was in an advanced state of deterioration. Yves Saint Laurent used to come here to have the city's finest craftsmen weave curtains and blankets to decorate his Moroccan homes. If you want to see the artisans at work, bent over their looms, and order pieces from them, you'll have to go to Rue Siaghine, where they've been temporarily installed between Petit and Grand Socco.

Of the two Atika boutiques (clothing and leather goods), we prefer the one that sells leather articles, and more particularly shoes, leather models of all colors, including the famous moccasins that are so supple and timeless. Faced with this choice and this quality, it is difficult to leave empty-handed.

Located near the ramparts, this mini-bookstore-brocante, with its false airs of Ali Baba's cave, has some nice surprises in store for you. In the midst of the many ethnic objects, novels, cookbooks, beautiful books on Morocco, collections of Berber tales and jewellery (which Josef has been collecting for ages), you can rummage through the piles and perhaps discover - oh joy - a special book to accompany the afternoon on a sunny terrace. The tomcats (if they are still there) bring a warm note to the place.

This gigantic shopping center is simply the largest in the region. Its surface area covers nearly 30,000 square meters spread over 3 floors. The Tanger City Mall and its 78 stores make the inhabitants of Tangier very happy. Indeed, its 3 hectares of shopping malls offer everything: food, shopping, a children's park and the largest Megarama cinema (8 screens) in the region. This mall with its futuristic look and its numerous activities is very appealing. The top floor is dedicated to fast food. Large underground parking lot.

This micro-record store, from which musical notes escape, makes you want to push open the door. It was recently opened and launched by Omar Mahfoudi, a Tangier-born visual artist who now lives and works in France, and his friend Hamza, an ultra-competent music lover. Whether you're a fan of jazz, oriental music, hip-hop, rock, punk, indie pop, gnawa or techno, you're bound to find what you're looking for. The welcome is warm, the advice is pertinent, and Hamza's passion for sound will help you unearth that rare black disc you've been dreaming of!
