Hosni and his team are also in charge and the setting is certainly Spartan, but authentic and warm. Don't miss it if you're ever in the area.

Bocadillo Abdelmalik is one of the oldest sandwich shops in Tangier and one of the best too. Brahim Abdelmalik is always there, faithful to the post, and with his team, he tirelessly stuffs half baguettes with raw vegetables, meat, chicken, eggs and mayo. Tortillas and home fries are part of the classics. The popular and slightly crazy atmosphere contributes to the charm of the place. A few tables are set up on the sidewalk between the beautiful white facades of downtown in this Mexican street very busy at night.

At Tomy Food, you'll find a large menu featuring mostly Western dishes, but with a few local specialties. A meeting point between the medina and the city center, close to the tourist areas and the beach. Very affordable prices, and carefully prepared dishes. You'll find quality burgers, tiramisus and a whole range of quickly prepared salads. A great place to grab a bite to eat, on a busy thoroughfare between several of the city's main thoroughfares.

Taken over by the 16 Café team, My Kawa is as elegant and neat as his big brother. A colourful atmosphere for a light and tasty cuisine. On the menu, quinoa salad and baby sprouts, wraps, Moroccan breakfast with its amlou pancakes and an amazing menu of healthy smoothies made with seasonal fruits and vegetables. Gourmets are not to be outdone: macaroons and other homemade pastries are as beautiful as they are delicious. Special mention for the Trilogie d'Orient ice-cream cup with its original flavours of rose, mint tea and gazelle horn.

Eating both grilled and healthy dishes in a young, relaxed atmosphere? It's possible at Le Petit Chantier, which opened in 2018 at the end of the famous El Baqqal street with its many snack bars. On the menu: char-grilled meats, pastas and a salad bar, which you can compose yourself with your choice of 6 ingredients in addition to the base, plus topping, all served copiously in large wooden bowls. The decor is, as the name suggests, based on a "construction site" spirit, but rest assured, the work is finished!

Jenin is a pastry shop, a tea room, a pizzeria and a creperie. This downtown address, in the heart of the El Ensanche district, offers a wide choice of delicacies to nibble on the go. A rather young and trendy clientele rushes there from morning to evening alongside Western tourists. The resolutely modern setting spreads an almost futuristic atmosphere. Starry sky, moucharabieh, imposing chandelier and tapered armchairs sign the decor. The place is a must if you have a sweet or savory craving. Excellent value for money.

Here on Friday, it's souk day. It is huge and occupies almost the whole village. Several alleys are specially dedicated to the restoration: stands set up for the occasion or solid construction, you will have the embarrassment of choice as long as mania is not part of your personality. The main thing: the meat is fresh (like the locals you can bring it yourself to grill it) and these estaminets are very popular with the inhabitants, so don't worry. What's more, you can eat there at an unbeatable price.

A nice and popular address that we recommend especially for those who want to change a little couscous, tagines and other specialties of the Maghreb. Mister Noodles, the Tangier branch of a brand that is well established in the south of Spain, is a noodle bar with Thai, Malaysian, Japanese and Chinese influences. For dessert, the chocolate fondue will delight the greediest. It's a good plan if you are staying in the area or after a sunbathing session on the nearby beach. Take-out and delivery available.

Open for some fifteen years, this small snack bar is popular with locals for its good value for money. The smell wafting from the rotisserie on the sidewalk already whets the appetite. You can order pizzas, tacos or paninis, as well as hearty dishes based on roast chicken or minced meat, from the sheltered terrace or small indoor space. A good address to eat quickly and without ruining yourself. Popular, it also gathers many inhabitants of Zagora who come to perpetuate the tradition of Moroccan tea, to discuss while sipping a coffee, and to linger while watching the onlookers cross the city. Perfect for a stop in a day of souvenir shopping in the main artery of this desert gateway.

A good address for the copieux and breakfast lovers. . painted with ceiling, large chairs and nice decoration. Good value for money.

The setting, simple, is nevertheless neat with photos set in original wrought iron frames. Pleasant staff and efficient service. It is clean, you can eat on the spot or take away for a few dirhams. No alcohol but sodas.

This new minimalist address on the Corniche offers excellent smash burgers, US of A style. Here, the ground steak is smashed as it cooks on a hot plancha. The result: the burger has a crispy, almost caramelized crust, and the meat stays juicy inside. An ultra-short but effective menu. Choose between beef and chicken. Everything is homemade: the buns are plump and moist, the sauces masterful and the fries ultra-crisp. A nice strawberry milkshake to wash it all down. A warm welcome.
