The Rainbird is a café-bar that also serves food, more for a light lunch or brunch than a real gourmet break. The small menu offers a few salads, sandwiches and mezzedes, but the main reason for coming here is to have a drink. It's simple, but the view over the bay is magnificent, in the shade of bougainvillea and a little away from the tourist overflow when the season is in full swing. A good place to take a cool break when it's too hot or before setting off to climb the acropolis.

Located at the entrance to Kantouni beach, this café-bar only has a name and darts advertisement. It is the meeting place for the young - and not so young - people on the island to have a cocktail or a drink in the evening. A real institution since 1978, Rock and Blues promises a moment of relaxation, in the calm of the Kalymnian night. Of course very well placed to enjoy the sunset as well. The area offers some dining options, including a fairly famous steak sandwich, but it won't be your best culinary option around.

This little café-bar is well named. It is indeed hidden on the foothills of Horio, on the road that goes down to Pedi: a shaded courtyard under the arbour brings freshness and calm. It is an establishment that is maintained year after year, and that locals and tourists also appreciate. We stop there to drink coffee in the courtyard, have breakfast, have a light lunch break with delicious mezzedes or drink the ouzo after a hard day's holiday. In the evening, live music is regularly scheduled.

Without a doubt the best cocktail bar in Symi: on the quay leading to the shipyard, Tsati is a real gem. You can drink your aperitif with your feet in the water, facing the red and golden hills of the port at the end of the day. The waves lapping gently on the multicoloured boats while you sip a granita or a house cocktail. The owner of the place, Michalis, makes it a point of honour to serve only sophisticated cocktails: you won't find a standard mojito here. Beware of the high prices though.

The island's must-see spot: located at the end of the quays and at the foot of the mosque, the Faros is topped by a small lighthouse that marks the entrance to the port. It's the place to be in the morning for a cup of coffee, then again in the warmer hours of the day for a refreshing swim: deckchairs and parasols are set out on the terrace, and ladders give direct access to the crystal-clear waters of the bay. In the evening, the bar comes alive at aperitif time and stays open until late, with live music on some evenings.

On the beach of Platy Gialos, this beach bar has been welcoming holidaymakers since 1980, with an ever-changing friendliness. During the day, you can drink fresh fruit juices, have a snack and enjoy the deckchairs available to customers. In the early evening, you can sit and have an aperitif while watching the sun go down. The palm tree umbrellas, the tiki bar atmosphere and the general relaxation contribute to the success of the place. We won't keep it quiet any longer: it's simply a good place to be. This small café in Massouri offers fresh fruit juices and smoothies (some made exclusively with fruit and vegetables from Kalymnos), as well as full breakfasts and a number of organic dishes, particularly suited to climbers and other sports enthusiasts. A very successful healthy food approach. You'll also find good puff pastries and filled rolls to take away: very practical for a day's picnic, whether at the beach or on the climbing routes. The café's few tables fill up quickly in the mornings at the height of the season.

This snack-bar-café has been run by two Britons for over 20 years. It's a place where you can drink tea with milk and eat an English breakfast in the morning, unless you prefer a good cold coffee and a vegan menu. Above all, it's a popular place for climbers to meet up after a day's climbing to debrief and decide on the day ahead. This terrace in Skala's main square is the café where people have always come to drink a frappé during the day or an aperitif in the evening. We watch people pass by, we talk about current events, we remake the world, we meet again from summer to summer and from day to day... It is one of the most important places of local sociability: in 2020, the Plaza café celebrated its 100th anniversary. We like to spend hours there, watching time pass. The "bakery" is the nerve centre of Lipsi. Open 24 hours a day, it serves as a bakery, ice-cream parlour, tobacco shop, coffee shop, bar, meeting place for friends or lovers, office for Internet addicts, information centre for all the island's gossip.... In short, you will have understood that this is an essential part of any stay in Lipsi. We start there as well during the day as we finish there at night... The ice cream and desserts are quite successful. You can also buy puff pastries for your picnics on the beach.

Here's a magnificent establishment nestled in a typical Cycladic house with exposed stonework and Paros marble. Part café, part Mediterranean restaurant and part cocktail bar, the place is both charming and romantic, while offering a superb view of the waterfront, especially at sunset. The food is excellent, and the place is ideal for both an afternoon coffee break and an evening cocktail. There's also an art gallery on site, with various exhibitions throughout the year.

Kythera is not really a party destination. Nevertheless, Astikon remains the place to be for all those who want to enjoy the long summer evenings. Almost every night in the summer, live concerts are organized and all the youth meet in this bar. The cocktails are incredible, try the lemonada (fresh lemon juice with tequila or rum depending on your taste). You can also have a wonderful breakfast here. The welcome is friendly and the decor, both vintage and trendy, is superb.

This café on the main square of Skala is the oldest kafeneio in Patmos: opened at the end of the 19th century, it passed from hand to hand within the Karali family. Its name comes from the city of Texas where one of the owners, Andreas, emigrated in the 1930s. Since then, coffee has remained an essential meeting place on the island. The place has been taken over by the younger generation: it is always very pleasant to settle there to take a break or to have an aperitif and watch the world go by.

This is Astypalaia's most famous night bar, and it's easy to see why: situated just outside the fortress walls, it enjoys an ideal location. You can enjoy an exceptional view of the horizon from these heights, where you can meet up all night long to share a well-balanced cocktail with friends. The music is top-notch and we love the friendly atmosphere that reigns here every summer. Live music concerts and DJ sets follow one another on certain evenings, so you can opt for the pretty, cool terrace or the indoor dance hall.

This coffee bar on the seafront and the port of Agia Marina is particularly pleasant to have an aperitif at the end of the day, facing the sea and in the beautiful sunny light. The sun then gets colder and we are delighted to practically laze with our feet in the water, on the tables installed along the quayside. You will also come there to have your coffee in the morning and see the village wake up slowly, opting for the tables on the large terrace: comfortably installed, you will then have a view of all the comings and goings of the port.

This very pleasant beach bar is located at the northern end of Alinta Bay, at the very end of the road, on the small beach of Dio Liskaria. Here, a young and trendy clientele gather to drink fresh fruit cocktails during the day, to eat a good salad or a selection of mezzedes and to have a drink. This bar-restaurant is perched high above Panteli, on the Apitiki hill overlooking the bay. Situated at the windmills on the road leading to the castle, it enjoys a unique location... which you'll have to earn if you're on foot, but which will reward all your efforts! In fact, the panoramic views from every vantage point are well worth the trip. One of Leros' many worthwhile establishments, it opened its doors in summer 2021. Don't miss the in-house pastries or a delicious evening cocktail: the view will never cease to amaze you.

This beach bar is one of the most pleasant on Leros. At the entrance to Merikia Bay, you can enjoy a drink overlooking the sea, comfortably seated, in a friendly, slightly trendy and contemporary setting. Good snacks are also available during the day, including vegan options or something to accompany a drink. A few deckchairs and umbrellas are set up for customers below. The setting and location are extremely quiet and pleasant. Ideal for a stopover before or after visiting the War Museum.

This café-ouzerie is located halfway between the port of Pera Gialos and the heights of Chora, next to a pharmacy. All the local youth flock there in the evening to share some delicious mezzedes and something to quench their thirst, often with a lot of raki or ouzo. Try marinated mushrooms or succulent courgette fritters. Live music and rebetiko are organized regularly and sometimes dance takes over. Away from the nightlife crowds but right in the center of Kos-ville, you'll be both quiet and in the heart of the action. You can spend hours here during the day, under the refreshing shade of the terrace's beautiful trees: a few brunch and breakfast options will satisfy even the hungriest of appetites. In the evening, the lounge atmosphere takes over, with live music concerts regularly organized.

On the main street of the old town, Sativa serves a hearty breakfast and fresh fruit and vegetable juices during the day, before transforming into a cocktail bar after dark. The ochre walls of the Sativa Music Bar are home to one of Parikia's best live music spots. In this two-storey house, the atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. This traditional kafeneio is the oldest in the village of Panteli: it's had a bit of a facelift in recent years, but still retains its old-world charm. Situated directly on Panteli's small beach, you can sit with your feet in the sand, facing the sea, or around the large tamarisk tree that provides welcome shade in summer. Here, you can spend long hours drinking a cold coffee or a cold beer, with mezzedes to share. A few deckchairs and parasols are also available for sunbathing.

This is the harbor café proper. Set right on the landing stage, it's the ideal place to wait for boats to arrive and depart. People come here for coffee and breakfast, and to drink ouzo in the evening. Livadia locals gather here on match nights. Internet access is good and free, so it's always busy during the day. Before a ferry arrives, the place is packed, saturated with goodbyes and wishes for a safe journey. A joyful hubbub that contrasts with the calm that reigns the rest of the time.

This open-air bar is perhaps one of the most surprising and exceptional nightclubs in the whole of the Dodecanese. In the abandoned village of Mikro Horio, Yannis renovated the family home and transformed it into a splendid bar. In the dark night and the magical setting of a ruined village, we celebrate under the stars until the early hours of the morning. You can never predict too much when the party will end. A free shuttle bus is planned from Livadia from midnight to late at night to drink serenely without having to drive.

Located on the beachfront promenade, Mikro Café is an institution in Livadia and one of the most pleasant places to spend a few hours sipping a frappé while playing tavli. You can also eat a few snacks during the day or have a good breakfast. But it is especially in the evening that the places come alive. Go up to the roof terrace to see the day end with a good glass of ouzo and then look at the stars in the sky of an ink black on this small lost island. The owner also manages Mikro Horio's bar.

In the central square of Livadia, perfectly located on the main crossroads where all the life of the village converges, you will spend hours watching life evolve from this small traditional café. Always open or almost open (it closes a few hours for a nap), it is run by Yorgos, the brother of Nikos the fisherman. You will drink coffee in the morning with the island's workers, during the day with the tourists on break and in the evening with everyone. Sometimes the music takes off and a few people start dancing. A must.

This café-bar is located in an alleyway in Lindos, opposite the Ambrosia restaurant. Locals come here in the evening for a drink or two (good cocktails), but also during the day, just to have a coffee and breathe for a few minutes before returning to worry about the passing tourist crowds. The welcome is warm and the atmosphere relaxed. You'll also find a small menu offering a few brunch options, including a vegan breakfast, for those who have made a clean break from meat and animal products.

The Tropicana is one of Paradise Beach beach bars known for its memorable celebrations. At 4:30 p. m., djs bring up decibels and young people from around the world into bathing suits. It cannot be said that it is the top of the refinement, but the dredge beats its full and the visitors come to it are delighted. Here's one of the newest of the trendy beach bars, fresh and arrived in 2017. The SantAnna is much more than a beach bar: this amazing place has brought the sea to its bowels with the largest saltwater pool in the Mediterranean that winds between deckchairs and islets where you can drink a cold coffee during the day or a delicious cocktail. From 5pm, sharp DJs are on the decks and play lounge music that skillfully increases in power. In the kitchen, the menu is prepared by the chef to whom we owe the Nice n' Easy restaurants.

It's been an institution since 1971. Here you can drink the previous day's alcohol on deckchairs facing the turquoise sea, eat at the beach snack bar, fill up on vitamins with fresh fruit juice cocktails and wait until nightfall for the party to resume. Over the years, this temple of partying has become the den of the student crowds and the youngest partygoers, gay or straight. On the commercial sounds, the golden rule is to wiggle around almost naked: the less you are dressed, the more you are Super Paradise. Amateurs will be delighted, others will be warned.

This beach bar in Super Paradise is especially, but not exclusively, popular with gay holidaymakers. It is also and above all the place to be seen in Mykonos! Here you can relax under the coconut palm parasols by the sea, flirt in the whirlpool or around the swimming pool, enjoy Mediterranean fusion cuisine at lunch and dinner and get drunk on fabulous cocktails with a 360° view. At night, parties can take on unexpected proportions after the always successful show of the drag queen Priscilla.

Nestled in a small square away from the crowd, here is a pearl not to be missed. The Manto Cinema is first and foremost an open-air cinema that shows films in OV every night during the season. The program is wide, but it mainly includes major international releases. In addition to this very pleasant cinema, you can come during the day to enjoy the totally unexpected Olympic peace and quiet that reigns in the pretty adjoining café. Located in a large garden, in the shade of majestic trees, the café serves snacks all day long.

This Little Venice facility is always open, or almost. In the morning, we come to breakfast, a coffee during the day to pause and watch people scroll, at the time of aperitif, sacrifice the cocktail of the cocktail face facing the sunset while the dance floor ignites on commercial music once the night arrives. Pop interiors are suitable for the party.

A club in the middle of Little Venice offering a very "Mykonos" atmosphere and interiors, i. e. a somewhat outdated lounge side, a lot of white, a little bit of "bling" and less elegance than what is displayed a priori… Despite everything, we like the intimate side of the place: here you will find no km ² of dance floor, but rather an atmosphere 'between itself'. The windmill is surrounded by a magnificent terrace offering a magical 360-degree panoramic view. Without a doubt, this is one of the island's most romantic establishments, especially at sunset. There are two addresses for this mythical cinema in Kos-ville: the address on Elefterias Square is a classic cinema, as we know it here, while the address on Fenaretis is what we call a summer cinema in Greece. It is an open-air cinema that plays all the international films of the moment in the original version with subtitles (in Greek of course). You can have a drink at the small bar to quietly sip wine or a beer under the stars, enjoying the big screen and the freshness of a summer night.

Le Ronda overlooks Elli Beach and offers two areas: the beach bar itself, and the large modern interior, all in curves. The latter is organized under the large dome of a historic and protected building, a unique testimony of fascist architecture in Rhodes. It offers beautiful views of the sea and the port of Mandraki. In summer, the elegant beach bar spreads its deckchairs and parasols on the sand and offers some shaded tables. Theodoraki Dimitriou Street has been a favorite spot for young Rhodians for a few years now, where they meet at any time of the day or night. Just outside the walls of the old town and behind the New Market, cafes and bars change their atmosphere as the hours go by. This is the case of Barra Tres, a bar with a nice design, where you can have coffee in the morning, a snack during the day and drinks in the evening. At night, the young and festive atmosphere is ensured by very knowledgeable DJs.

You can't escape it: it's displayed everywhere! Not surprising when you consider that each Greek region is entitled to only one casino. Thus, in the Dodecanese, it is in Rhodes that you have to come and play with your money: the islanders of the archipelago come to spend a few hours of leisure there during their stay on the capital island. Located in the Venetian port, open all year round, it is full of students in the off-season, but locals and, in recent years, tourists have been flocking there in the summer as well. Mainstream music and classics from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. DJ but also some live parties: check the programme. A good way to party and meet the youth of Rethymnon.

This pleasant establishment located in a street parallel to the port is known for its love of coffee: here, caffeine and the different ways of making coffee are taken very seriously. It serves Mrs Rose blends, a roaster renowned throughout Greece. If you dream of a freddo espresso but are at the beach, don't worry! Coffee delivers coffee to me all over the island. On site, you can settle comfortably for breakfast, with a Viennese pastry or a Greek toast in the morning. Some snacks are also available.

Overlooking the entire city of Zakynthos, near the city's citadel, you will have a breathtaking life from this café. It is mainly for this exceptional view, and the romantic evening setting, that you should come to this café-bar. The cocktails, fresh juices and ice creams are very good and the prices are not exaggerated. Maybe we were lucky but the staff were incredibly friendly and smiling. Small food, nice and light. The magical view of the spot and the sea breeze will make you appreciate your stop even more!
