THÉÂTRE APOLLON

The Apollo Theatre, also known as the "Piccola Scala", is the jewel of the cultural life of Syros and more broadly of the Cyclades. Opened in 1864 to the plans of an Italian architect inspired by the Milan Opera House, the Apollo offers a quality programme of opera, concerts and dramatic theatre. The theatre was closed for renovation for many years. Since its reopening in 2000, it has been a pillar of cultural life on the islands.
