Two possibilities for discovering the Empuriabrava canals: either by ferry (with explanation) or renting a small boat, 8 or 5 places. The course is the same, a circuit of about 8 km that shows the main canals: descent, climb and canal of the Mig as well as the key points of the marina. See dolphins, a dream? A reality with this cruise to observe them! Excursions take place from 11 am to 15 pm and from 16 am to 20 pm (bus included). The Sagitarius Cat leaves Puerto Rico harbour around 2 to 3 miles from the coast and leaves for dolphins living in their natural fields, but also turtles, flying fish, and can even be whales… On board, sandwiches, music, sun (don't forget your cream and hats!), while watching caves, beaches, beautiful beaches and hidden mountains. 207 km of canal and 49 locks were built to take to the sea the cereals produced in the fields of Castile. It took almost a hundred years to build it (1753-1849) and after a century of navigation, transportation ceased in 1959. Today, roads and train have replaced it and the water of the canal is used for the irrigation of crops. But the slipway where the mules fired the barges is still there. It is a cool and quiet place for walks to old mills and small villages. From the Herrera de Pisuerga pier you can take boat walks on the canal to observe flora and fauna.
