WHITE CAT
Read moreAnother place to be for trendy night owls. Art galleries, regular live concerts, bars, dance clubs... This is where the block party is held with an outdoor extension. This club at the bar-aquarium is housed in an ultra-designed medieval cellar. In a subdued atmosphere, we dance all night long to the rhythms of the DJ's sounds or jams and colourful cocktail rounds. Staged as a pink lounge, we see white cat-shaped lamps that dimly illuminate the nooks and crannies and the bar. The den of Ghent's golden youth.
VELVET SIXTY NINE
Read moreEvery two months, the Velvet Sixty Nine parties welcome girls who like girls and want to party. It's nothing less than the biggest party dedicated to women in Belgium. After the long break due to the health crisis, Velvet is back this year in a mythical venue: the Claridge (opposite the less mythical Mirano). On the menu: excellent DJ's, and fun! To extend the experience, Velvet is exported to Ibiza for a few days each year for the same concept, but under the sun!
DALI'S BAR
Read moreWell hidden at the end of a dead end street in the heart of Brussels, in the Sacred Island, Dali's Bar is one of the oldest music bars in the city. International DJs come and go from one weekend to the next. You can sway all night long to the wild rhythms. Red armchairs in the shape of luscious lips and other reproductions welcome those who prefer to settle down quietly to sip one of these explosive cocktails that give a boost to the beginning of the evening or the end of the night.
IKON
Read moreClub Noxx closed, Ikon was born! One of Antwerp's newest clubs is not only a club, but also a venue for events and festivals. And the space is vast. There's the Ikon Mainroom, with its R&B, techno, deep house and drum & bass sound. The Fusia room is cosy and intimate, with a brand-new soundsystem and oriental decor that takes you on a journey. The Skyclub, open only on Saturdays and the eve of public holidays, is more commercial (pop, R&B)... Lovers of groovy music will be well served!
CAFÉ LOCAL
Read moreThis very large club with high ceilings is lavishly decorated in the indus and art nouveau style so dear to the city. Recently renovated, it is the meeting place of the Antwerp youth who like groovy music and good cocktails. We like the small concerts that are organized there, and the thematic evenings. Dé Nachten evenings (funk and house Ibiza) on Saturdays, alternating with other concepts and the Pre-Night afterwork every last Wednesday of the month. Check the program on their Facebook page. A must-see.
DE COULISSEN
Read moreThis loungebar is the only real nightclub in Bruges. This is where you can dance the night away into the wee hours of the morning. The setting is classy, that of a historic former bank in the city center. DJs follow one another at the turntables and don't look alike: electro, techno, R'n'B, hip hop, the program is eclectic. The space is small but cosy, and the lighting is designed to create a lively atmosphere at the end of the week. Cocktails and beers are on the menu.
CLUB VAAG
Read moreAn electro-techno-house club par excellence, referenced by Resident Advisor, the club is in the basement with a rather Berlin feel, since here we're in the industrial setting of the harbor docks. The heavy bass can resonate without disturbing the neighbors until morning. Great label programming, lots of guests from Berlin, London, Paris... It's a truly underground venue. Remember to reserve your tickets when the live producers are scheduled, as the 400-person venue can sell out. For connoisseurs of electro nights.
BOCADERO
Read moreWelcome to the beach, Antwerp version! Ideal for sipping a cocktail at sunset or hanging out while a DJ plays his records day and night. Outside: sofas, deckchairs, poufs and umbrellas are spread out on a quay, on the sand, under palm trees, in front of the industrial cranes of the port. In this vast former warehouse, wooden furniture and plants soften the concrete in an "exotic-indus" atmosphere. There is a salsa dance floor, two restaurants (Pampelonne and Lambik) and Gusto (Mediterranean tapas)..
RECYCLART
Read moreIt is above all a cultural centre, but the Recyclart also offers offbeat underground parties. These attract punks and squatters from the neighbourhood as well as artists, fans of electro, ragga or drum'n bass. The premises also house Fabrik, a craft production space based on a professional transition program for low-skilled workers (carpentry and ironwork). A 100% vegan bar and restaurant completes the premises in a beautiful way: ethical and healthy, far from the food industry.
