This is one of the oldest meeting places for expatriates in Bishkek, who come here in the morning to enjoy their breakfast while leafing through the newspaper. It's a good place to eat or have a drink (wide choice of whiskies and beers). Dishes are expensive, but the meat is of good quality and the service impeccable. Take advantage of the soothing setting inside or the pleasant covered terrace around the corner to spend a little more time than it takes to empty a plate: you'll almost feel like you're in Kyrgyzstan!

Red dominates, between the posts of the portals and the evocative lanterns of Chinese temples. Inside, there is a Zen spirit with incense sticks, Buddha effigies and large, well-spaced tables where one can sit comfortably for a Chinese meal and where only the music, which unfortunately oscillates between old eighties standards and elevator music, can be heard. Let's hope it will be fixed, because for the rest, this is the best address in Bishkek for lovers of fried noodles, fried ravioli and spicy meats!

Right in the center of Osh, this restaurant offers very good local products. Great chachlyks, nice salads but also pizzas and more elaborate dishes like a beef Stroganoff. The kebabs are the best in town: fresh meat, impeccable cooking and spices just right! As for the atmosphere, we eat comfortably seated in the shade of straw huts, on chairs or armchairs, around a refreshing central courtyard. The central park is just a stone's throw away, for a digestive walk after an invigorating meal. It's a long shift, but it's worth it!

It's more of a cafeteria than a restaurant, but the salads, soups, sandwiches and paninis are so good you almost forget it. You order at the counter and then sit at the table or in comfortable armchairs on the reading lounge side. Wi-Fi, small smoking area, no alcohol. Jovial atmosphere and clientele essentially students. It's perfect for snacking, reading, logging on and you end up spending more time than you need in this nice place. The most popular places, on the sofa or in an armchair, are unfortunately rare!

A small cafe with a rather nice atmosphere, and having adapted to the touristic turn of the city. The menu is in English but the food and recipes are local (soups, laghmans, chachlyks...) but the portions are adapted to the appetites of the trekkers and the prices have remained reasonable. Unfortunately, this is not so much the case with more western recipes, and we recommend that you stay in the region for a while, otherwise you will be disappointed and wait a very long time for your plate. Good atmosphere and prime location in the city centre.

Many restaurants have succeeded one another in this strategic location, just a stone's throw from Erkindik Avenue and the main points of interest in the city center. But this is the first time you'll find a tchaikhana featuring national recipes rather than the usual pizzas for tourists. The clientele is rather young, lingering over a cup of tea and a few chachlyks. It's relaxed, inexpensive and the choice of dishes, salads, soups, etc., is excellent, for a budget that knows how to remain modest.

The only really lively restaurant in the evening. The hotel is a brand new hotel, the dishes are good and rich. There is no menu in English, but the servers are co-operative!

The Red Cow has everything to please: its attractive front and without ambiguity, we come here because we love meat. Steaks, T-Bons or burgers, it doesn't matter, the meat is of very good quality, tender and tasty, served with side dishes of potatoes or fresh vegetables. The seasoning and sauces are well worked, the cooking is mastered and the service, as slow as elsewhere, has the merit of being courteous and warm. A good address if you've had your fill of mutton fat and want to reconcile with beef!

A warm, resolutely young, festive and lively atmosphere. This restaurant, which has decided to give pride of place to chicken in all its forms and in all its recipes (with a clear focus on Japan and Korea), has also chosen to devote a setting focused on art and creation. The furniture is design, the decoration is neat, so that the restaurant has become Bishkek's somewhat bobo lair, with a mix of artists, intellectuals and students. Jazz on Friday night, open mic on Saturday.

A very pretty pub where a notable effort has been made to make you feel at ease. Harmony of colors and materials, lighting, decoration: what's usually lacking in Central Asian restaurants is here perfectly studied and put to the service, what's not to spoil anything, of a high-flying cuisine that gives pride of place to nomadic traditions. Laghman beshbarmak, plov and, of course, a wide choice of salads and soups. A place that's as pleasant to eat as it is to stop for tea or coffee during the day.

A lovely terrace on the sidewalk at the corner of Razzakov and Toktogul is a real eye-catcher, and the interior is no exception. Large wooden tables for friends to sit around, attention to detail, green plants... You'll immediately feel at ease, unless you're allergic to chicha (in which case you'll prefer the tables to the right of the entrance, further away from the smoking area). Kyrgyz recipes, pastas, pizzas, steaks... You'll find a bit of everything on the menu, served in generous portions for a modest price.

This is the place to go if you want to try a top-of-the-range version of Central Asian cuisine. The menu covers all Kyrgyz, Uzbek and Kazakh specialties: several types of plov, beshbarmak, pilmenis, jiz-biz... Everything is appetizing, and the best option is to go with friends to order the widest possible variety of dishes and taste everything! And don't forget to make a reservation if you want to find a place at the end of the week: the restaurants on little Orozbekov Street are literally jam-packed!

In the north-west of the city, this friendly café is beautifully decorated with a variety of handicrafts, and is as welcoming as it is warm. In the evenings, you can come with family or friends in a friendly atmosphere (no alcohol on the menu!) to enjoy regional cuisine featuring Kyrgyz recipes as well as Dungan specialties: Chinese salads and fried ravioli rub shoulders with plov and beshbarmak, alongside the ever-present chachlyks. It's a little greasy, but the overall value for money is good!

You won't have a phenomenal choice when it comes to dining at At Bashi, but this café, although a little "aseptic" inside, with its chandeliers, marble floor and somewhat rigid furniture, can be a good option. The food is fresh (salads, soups, kebabs...) and the atmosphere is either calm or very festive, in the case of weddings or anniversaries taking over the large room. In short, a good option for rubbing shoulders with the locals and getting into the swing of things, without breaking the bank and with very good food.

In true Central Asian style, the restaurant features numerous booths, decorated with various motifs evoking Kyrgyzstan and nomadic culture. This same evocation is successfully reflected in the dishes, which are both generous and fragrant. Crisp samsas, fresh salads and hearty nomad dishes are the highlights of this restaurant, whose budget is very reasonable given the quality of the products. For stomachs nostalgic for the West, there's also a fine selection of pizzas.

A very pleasant address that doesn't necessarily shine for its decor or the professionalism of its waiters, but the efforts and kindness of the team are more than commendable. What's more, the food is good, with a fine range of Kyrgyz specialties, pretty salads and generous kebabs. The house also specializes in fish, often fried and served with onions, sautéed vegetables and fragrant rice. The atmosphere is friendly, and families gather here for a relaxed evening meal.

In the city centre, at the crossroads of Toktogul and Lenin Streets, you will find several chaikhanas with large terraces and tables laid out in the shade of the trees, separated by wide alleys that the staff constantly water to maintain a semblance of coolness in the hottest hours. There are chachlyks, laghmans, beshbarmak and, for those who are fed up with fat, lightly spiced Chinese-style meat skewers. You will also find other chaikhanas in the central park, on either side of the main driveway.

Behind the brick facade, a pretty room with plenty of light and high ceilings, featuring attractive wooden tables. Contemporary touches and a menu offering a fine range of soups, salads, paninis and pizzas. Hungry diners will also find steaks and heartier dishes à la carte, all for very good value. During the day, there's a good selection of teas and pastries. The Toktogul park is just a stone's throw from the restaurant.

The interior room has benefited from a beautiful effort of decoration, which is rare enough to be highlighted. Nevertheless, you will be encouraged to eat outdoors, on the comfortable armchairs or sofas, placed here and there around the fountains, and between which the waiters gravitate wearing large chachlyks or beautiful Russian salads. The bar offers some imported spirits, Russian beers and beautiful fruit juice cocktails. It's also a good place to spend some time around a hookah.

This gigantic tchaikhana is housed in a beautiful traditional house in the city centre. Plastic tables and chairs in the courtyards or under the yurt or takhtan under the wrought roof, make your choice! The menu offers a wide variety of nomadic dishes (laghman, kazan kebab, manty...) but it is especially for the chachlyks that the establishment is frequented. At lunchtime, the place becomes a veritable anthill where the waiters seem to be as numerous as the customers. But curiously, the wait is always desperately long.
