There are two in the capital: the one located in the north, Place de l'Immigration, serves the northern and eastern cities; the one in Place Victoria in the south serves the cities of the central plateau as well as the west and the south. Buses run from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the urban area, and a service is provided between Port-Louis and Curepipe in both directions until 11:00 p.m. The locations and cities served are indicated by a sign on the front of each bus. For more comfort, at very low fares, opt for the express buses equipped with air conditioning.

Curepipe being the most important commercial hub of the island along with Port Louis, it is well served by buses. From the bus station, buses leave in all directions with regular frequency. Not far from the market, the Terminal Nord serves the northern cities, starting with Port Louis with a departure every 5 minutes from 5am to 8:30pm. There are also new locations next to the new metro station. The South Terminal, a few dozen meters from the previous one, connects Curepipe to the southern cities and especially to Mahébourg.

It is the main bus station of the island, where most of the traffic is concentrated. It is lined with small Creole-style kiosks where street vendors sell snacks and handicrafts. From 5:30am, buses leave to serve the main corners of the island, at relatively regular times but rarely later than 6pm. Practical advice: for hiking, it can be interesting to be dropped off by bus in the heights, for example at Mont Lubin, and then to go back down to the coast by foot
