JAMAICA BEACH

French cuisine restaurant €€

The "barracas de praia" are inseparable from the days and nights of Porto Seguro. Jamaica Beach is one of the most famous. It is a beach barraca unlike any other, the result of the work of cocktail specialist Smokey Joe Lowe and Portuguese chef Maria Henriques. Cocktails, Portuguese and Jamaican dishes are on the menu. They have also taken great care in the decoration: art objects are displayed everywhere. As for the music, there is no axé music, but lots of reggae, salsa and merengue.

MINGUS

French cuisine restaurant €€

Ideal for jazz fans, thanks to its elegant decoration and charming piano, but also for lovers of good food. The restaurant offers a varied and original menu which mixes local products with French and contemporary gastronomy. On the menu: carpaccio with passion fruit flavour, duck confit and pear risotto; octopus with paprika... For dessert, to finish with a little Brazilian flavour, we recommend the small acai cake with cupuaçu jelly and crunchy tapioca from Pará!

CAFE GIRONDINO

Bistro and brasserie €€

This little restaurant close to Torre Italia is a veritable institution, where busy businessmen dine in an old-fashioned setting where you can still take your time. The pasta and gnocchi, as well as the impressive wine list, are the attraction of the place. Here again, and this is very Paulist, you can drop in for "café da manha", the local breakfast, but also for lunch and/or dinner. You can even bring your dog, as there's a special room for that purpose. The service and menu are up to scratch.

L'APERO

Bistro and brasserie €€

The concept of French bistro, the kitchen proposed and the atmosphere undoubtedly have the French touch. The wine card is smart. Provençal aioli at 27 réais, magret salad at 15 réais, squid from the chef to 30 réais. A small air from Hexagon to Sampa. A good address.

PÉ NA AREIA

French cuisine restaurant €€

It's easy to understand why this "feet in the sand" restaurant (translation of Pé na areia) is located on the front line of the seafront. It offers diners a romantic terrace with subdued shade lamps. Of course, it's not the only restaurant of its kind in Vila do Abraão, but it's a very pleasant one. Music ao vivo on weekend evenings. Dishes for 2 are rather generous. The wine list is quite good and the service efficient. An excellent address, fairly priced and very elegant.
