The airport is 10 km from downtown. A free shuttle bus runs every half hour between the two terminals. The commercial area has banks, currency exchange, ATMs, car rental agencies, cafes, restaurants, bookstores. Sofia's central train station, in the north of the city, is connected to the city center by streetcars, buses and metro line 2. Train arrivals and departures are announced on electronic display boards. Prices vary according to the type of train (normal or express) and class (^1st or ^2nd). Trains to Varna and Burgas have very affordable sleeping cars. The main lines have a platform for bicycles.

Located 200 m from the railway station (not to be confused with the Serdika station which serves international bus lines). Most major destinations in Bulgaria are served by buses from this station. Many private companies have their own ticket offices in the large central hall where you can buy your tickets. For the city center: metro line 2 and streetcars 1 and 7 in front of the railway station at 200 m. You are 20 minutes walk from the city center.

Varna, a city in Bulgaria, offers a bus service called Bus Biomet. Departure and arrival times vary according to destination. Located near the village of Kroumovo, this airport has known vicissitudes. Active until 1980, it had fallen into disuse due to lack of passengers. For about thirty years, its activity was very reduced. In 2010, the first international regular line was inaugurated with one flight per week between Plovdiv and London. Currently, charter flights still connect London, especially in winter for ski vacations, but also Dublin, Istanbul, Belfast, etc.

This local cab company offers fixed prices to visit the tourist sites around Rousse. The round trip to the monastery of Bassarbovo costs less than 20 euros, a little more for the churches of Ivanovo or the fortress of Cherven. The Mega Taxi are yellow like the others. You can find them in the city, for example at the crossroads of the Odeon cinema from where the bus 64 leaves, which takes you to the Boyana church in one hour. The cab takes you there in a quarter of an hour and for almost the same price if there are several of you, and leaves you in front of the door. The drivers are very friendly and ready, at least some of them, to give you information along the way about a particular monument or local practice. The cars are not always first class, but you will have saved time!

You can choose public transport or walking without any problem when you move in the city center. But if you are loaded when you arrive at the airport and moreover tired, the cab solution remains affordable. Count on about ten euros to reach the city center. The solution is also efficient, even if public transport is still possible, to quickly reach the points of interest in the distant suburbs such as the church of Boyana or the mountain of Vitocha.
