This trail presents and explains the history of the Olympic Games and sport in Lausanne. Saint Gingolph is a charming town located between Lake Geneva and the Swiss border. For water sports enthusiasts, the Lac et Mer site offers numerous activities such as swimming, sailing, paddling and kayaking. The municipal beach at Saint Gingolph offers excellent water quality and is very popular with visitors. Nearby is the shaded but unsupervised Plage de Bret. For those who prefer a view of the Vaud Alps, the beach at Saint-Gingolph in France is ideal, with its play areas and diving board.

Did you know that sailing on a lake, when the winds change regularly due to the nearby mountains, can be very technical? The sailing school offers sailing courses, advanced sailing courses and introductory regatta courses (with a particular focus on regattas) for juniors and adults, to help you prepare for your future round-the-world sailing trip. Water skiing and wakeboarding courses are also available. Adults and juniors can train on weighted sailboats and dinghies to take part in the many regattas in which the club participates.

Minigolf came from the United States by chance. Cousin of the great golf, this hobby is more akin to billiards for licensed players. The Pra Roman golf course offers a 3-hole course, a putting green, two pitching areas and bunker exit, covered and outdoor drivings places. As often in Switzerland, the environment is very green and the advantage of this golf course is to offer a relatively accessible price, with even possibilities of year-round subscription or family packs. Situated on the heights, the Lausanne golf course, created in 1921, offers a panoramic view of the Alps and the Jura, while benefiting from a wooded environment. Le Cormoran is a paragliding school located in Vionnaz. They offer training to become a paraglider pilot, as well as introductory days for those wishing to discover free flight. Training includes both theoretical and practical courses, with a minimum of 50 flights required to pass the practical exams and obtain a paragliding pilot's license. The school has a classroom for theory lessons, and also offers courses tailored to students' needs, whether they want to get back into paragliding after a break, or to perfect their skills.

In this aquatic complex in Renens, 5 heated water pools, 2 family type slides, 5 giant slides, a 10 m diving board, sports fields (beach volleyball, badminton), table tennis tables, 3 trampolines... enough to have fun with family or friends! Now a cantonal gymnasium, the building once housed an academy for pastors who came here for training. It was the first French-language Protestant theological school, founded in 1579 and operating until 1837. An imposing structure, it is one of the monuments that characterize the city's historical heritage. Today, the gymnasium is responsible for upper-secondary education in Matura and general culture.

This club was founded in 1900 at the Restaurant des Palmiers in Montreux. It allows young and old alike to discover rowing, a sport beneficial to postural development, tenacity and team spirit. The Montreux Minigolf offers a magnificent 18-hole course in a charming park full of trees and flowers, on the edge of the lake, between the Villa Florentine and the Petit Palais du Montreux Palace. It is thus intended to be a place of relaxation, where everyone will spend a pleasant moment in all simplicity.

The Vallée de la Jeunesse is a place for awakening culture and creativity, offering fun and varied activities for young and old. There are several playgrounds, paths, a pond, a rose garden and various other activities. The plants are presented in tiers. A path leads to a building housing the Inventions area, a playground and a former daycare centre founded by Nestlé. It is a souvenir of Expo 64. The path extends its route to the Vidy plain, on the shores of Lake Geneva.

For beginners, the bowl is a kind of big skatepark in which practitioners will seek to carve, that is to say to walk in the curves without ever losing speed while having fun with obstacles, copings and transitions. A real link between the Jura and the Plaine, this trail in the heart of the Jura winds between Sainte-Croix and Vuiteboeuf (alternative to Baulmes). Follow the green logo number 107 for a hike that is also accessible to children. The route offers real postcard landscapes over the plain, Lake Neuchâtel and beyond to the Alps. As you walk, you can admire the pastures and picturesque isolated chalets and the waterfalls in the Covatannaz gorge. For fun, you can even climb the rocks.

The Swiss Way was built to mark the 700th anniversary of the Confederation (1291-1991). The 35-kilometre route, in the construction of which all the Swiss cantons participated, begins at the Rütli, the birthplace of the Confederation. A half-hour train ride separates Vitznau on the lake (435 m) from the Rigi summit (1798 m). The Geneva Mystery is a treasure hunt that invites you to explore the historic heart of Geneva in order to uncover the secret of the disappearance of a famous professor of archaeology and history at the university. Of course, you will have to use your observation and deduction skills to lead the investigation. The game takes you to discover several museums of the city (Reformation Museum, Tavel House, Archaeological Museum), St. Peter's Cathedral and the alleys of the city.

The observatory dates back to 1858 and was created by the Department of Public Economy of the canton of Neuchâtel. As with many other astronomical observatories of the period, its role was to calculate time very precisely and to improve measurement techniques, a vital task in support of navigation and shipping, the needs of which increased sharply from the second half of the ^19th century onwards. But the observatory was much more than just that: under its dome was a first-class telescope that is still in use today: the 300 mm diameter Zeiss telescope of highly atypical design. In addition to a main tube 4,500 mm long, it is equipped with two photographic instruments, each 360 mm in diameter, giving it an impressive appearance. Informed visitors will no doubt wonder what purpose these two astrographs of identical characteristics, mounted in parallel, served... In fact, they were used to study the ultraviolet radiation coming from the stars, a study penalized in practice by the natural absorption of our atmosphere in this particular field of light, and of which we had no real idea at the time! With the skies degraded by light pollution, observations during public evenings were mainly focused on sufficiently luminous celestial objects, such as the Moon and planets.

The association that manages this beautiful observatory was founded in April 1977. It was soon declared to be in the public interest, and was able to expand. In 1981, the commune of Épendes decided to cede a 1,000 m² plot of land for the observatory. Work began in 1983, and the observatory was inaugurated in 1984. From the late 1980s onwards, the site was expanded and modernized, notably with the construction of a panoramic terrace with movable roof, and a planetarium. To this day, the observatory focuses on popularizing astronomy for the general public. The association was created on the initiative of Mrs. Daisy Naef-Ryter, who wished to honor the memory of her husband, Robert A. Naef, by installing his Reinfelder and Hertel telescope in a quality astronomical observatory. Indeed, for 50 years, Robert Adolf Naef, who worked at Zurich's Urania Observatory, devoted all his time and energy to popularizing astronomy. On May 21, 2004, a new-generation Keller telescope was inaugurated, offering top-level performance. For those in the know, this is a Cassegrain-type telescope, with a 500 mm diameter mirror and a focal length of 5,000 mm. The mount on which it is mounted is computer-controlled. It specializes in deep-sky objects, including nebulae and galaxies. Evening events and guided tours are organized on a regular basis.

This association offers observation evenings open to the public every first Tuesday of the month, starting at 8:30 pm in summer and 7:30 pm in winter. The observatory is not located in Gollion, but about ten kilometres further south, towards Lake Geneva, in the commune of Morges.
