Getting around by bus and coach Senegal

Established in 2016 by sons of the diaspora who returned to invest in their country, this transport company is a serious company that has modern and comfortable buses, equipped with a television and wifi. A bottle of water is even offered to each passenger for the journey. It offers long-distance trips from Tambacounda, the home town of this family business, and from Dakar. One can thus go to Kédougou and Dakar from Tambacounda, or to Saint-Louis and Touba, from Dakar. A company that we strongly recommend.

The urban transport company, Dakar Dem Dikk (round trip in Wolof), has an extensive bus network serving the many districts of the capital and its surroundings. Since 2017, it has also set up new lines serving the interior of the country, such as Saint-Louis, Matam, Tambacounda and Ziguinchor. Timetables are fixed and respected, the buses are air-conditioned and quite comfortable. From the airport, express shuttles regularly make the journey to Dakar and Thies. It is also possible to go to Banjul from Dakar.

Since 2014, the Baux-Maraîchers bus station has been welcoming travellers wishing to use public transport. It is much neater and cleaner than the former "Pompiers" station, and it is easy to find your way around. Bush taxis, minibuses and buses leave for almost all the country's domestic destinations. There is no set timetable, you have to wait until the vehicle is full before it starts. Prices are fixed, varying according to the destination.
