Inside, one can observe the presence of pieces inscribed as Historic Furniture such as the 19th century baptismal font and the great organ built in 1856 by Aristide Cavaillé-Colls. Surprisingly, the church's bell tower rests on a former watchtower, giving it a rarely seen silhouette.

SAN MARTIN CHURCH
Read moreThe first listed monument in the department, the church forms a complex heterogeneous ensemble. Almost completely devastated during the Great War, the building was rebuilt in the same way during a long construction project completed in 1952; in addition to rare Romanesque elements, the church had preserved its radiant Gothic nave, while its slender choir had been rebuilt in the flamboyant era and its bell tower added in the 17th century. J. and J.-J. Grüber created a set of coloured stained glass windows. The interior includes important furniture, including a 1528 Piétà attributed to Ligier Richier, paintings of scenes from the Passion (16th century) and a Way of the Cross by N. Untersteller.

SAINT-PIERRE LE GUILLARD CHURCH
Read moreIt is a massive church of the xiiith century, located in the heart of the Auron district, the only parish church of Bourges to have been built in Gothic style like the cathedral Saint-Étienne, which it is contemporary. And like St. Stephen's Cathedral, she doesn't have transept, but an ambulatory with radiant chapels. Dedicated in 1230 by the Archbishop of Bourges, his construction would follow a miracle. Saint Antoine de Padua was passing in Bourges (around 1225), and the mule of a Jew, named Guillard, turned away from his oats to kneel in front of the holy man. The owner of the mule then converted to the field and devoted all his money to the construction of the church.
To discover, a few stained glass windows, xve and xvith century frescoes, still partially visible. Jacques Cujas, professor of law at the University of Bourges, was buried in 1590 in one of the north chapels of the church, a monument that deserves to be visited, especially in addition to a visit to the cathedral.

NOTRE-DAME-DE-BONNE-NOUVELLE CHURCH
Read moreIt was during the first half of the 16th century that the construction of the chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Good News, patron saint of travellers and sailors, began. Originally, it was shaped like a barn because it had no bell tower and the floor was only clay. Over the years, the building fell into ruins. It was in 1841 that a text mentioned the need to rebuild a church. The chapel was demolished and in 1843, on June 15 of the Feast of God, the first stone of the new Damgan church was blessed.

SAINT-AIGNAN CHURCH
Read moreIf Saint-Via was Bishop of Chartres at the beginning of the fifth century, nothing remains of the préromane church that was there at the time, destroyed by successive fires. The church that can be seen today was built in the th century, in Gothic architecture towards the Renaissance. If this church is worth the detour, it is for its turret connected to the building by a driving rig, but also for its interior frescoes dating back to 1866: Green, red, yellow and gold blend in harmoniously.
