GEOFFREY STAGE

If there is a mythical place in Saint-Etienne, it is indeed the Cauldron! Inaugurated in 1931, the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium owes its nickname to the smoke that comes out on game nights. Expanded several times, it now has 42,000 seats. It hosts the CASE Rugby, occasionally concerts, but above all remains the home of the St. Etienne football team, ASSE, which has an impressive track record. 10 French Championship titles and a huge fan base! A Museum of the Greens, notably retracing the epic of the 1960s and 1970s has been installed there and visits to the stadium are organised, because the Chaudron is more than a stadium, it's almost a place of pilgrimage!

Roazhon Park is the home of the red and black colours of Stade Rennais FC. Coached by Julien Stéphan, the Ligue 1 players have only one desire: "Give it all! "The 30,000-seat stadium knows how to set the city on fire. The animation village opens 2 hours before the match to vibrate before kick-off. Even if the "galette-saucisse" is an institution at half-time, attending the matches in VIP is a real art: presidential stands, pre-game cocktail, open bar, catering, champagne... A great evening for fans and non-specialists alike!

Founded in 1931, Stade de Reims became one of the biggest French clubs in the 1950s thanks to its prestigious list of achievements. In 1956, the Remois club won the first final in the history of the Champions League against Real Madrid. With emblematic footballers such as Raymond Kopa and Just Fontaine at his helm, he won the hearts of the French and remained at the top until 1979. Then it was the decline and fall in 1991. A year later, the club was reborn from the ashes. Ranked in division 9, Reims Stadium has not forgotten anything about its glorious past and is counting on its young players to win back the elite and reach the top league in 2012, the promise of a promising future!

A club almost century-old, labelled "godson of the PSG", takes three teams adults (senior excellence, senior reserve, veterans), as well as teams of young people and U17 U19. The training take place at the stage Elisabeth, at Porte d'orléans. The senior teams play in excellence, level district. It is a good club for those who want to go on a level a little more affordable than the games on Sunday with friends and children.

OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS

Football

1 review

Olympique Lyonnais was born in May 1950, the bearer of two clubs: FC Lyon, a historic club that participated in the first final of the French Cup, and LOU, whose soccer section is called Lyon Olympic. After the Second World War, football in Lyonnais looks for a second breath, given by a group of round ball enthusiasts who create Olympique Lyonnais. The team plays with a white jersey with red and blue colours of the city of Lyon for the first time on August 27 th, 1950 in Gerland. From the first season, the OL is France's champion of D 2 and access to the elite. The seasons follow and do not look like the results are not always equal to expectations. The first trophy, a French Cup, was won in 1964. The 1960 s announced the arrival of a great club in the French championship and great players go through Gerland: Chiesa, Lacombe, Domenech, Bowl, Di Nallo or Chauveau. In 1976, the OL lost the final of the French Cup to Marseille, before starting a descent to the D 2. In 1983, after 28 years of the elite, the OL went down. The club has trouble recovering and settling in D 2. In distress, the OL discovers an ambitious man, arriving with a plan to lead the D 2 club to the European Cup in the next five years: Jean-Michel Aulas. Five years after its descent, the OL returned to the D 1 in 1989. A true renaissance is beginning and the most skeptical are obliged to recognize the talents of Jean-Michel Aulas and his team. At the dawn of the st century, the team strengthens and recruits a Brazilian magician named Sonny Anderson. From the 2000/2001 season, the OL won the League Cup, its first trophy since 1973. And the titles will follow. The OL won 7 French champion titles (from 2002 to 2008), wins 2 French Cups (2008 and 2012) and 1 League Cup (2001). The Champions of the League, including a semi-finals in 2010, lost against Bayern in Munich. The club, led by Jean-Michel Aulas, continues the beautiful adventure with his men's team, but also with a female team, the only one in France to have won a triple League of Champions, Championship and National Cup. Since the beginning of 2016, the OL has been evolving at the Olympique Lyonnais in Caudataires (now named the Groupama Stadium), a magnificent complex dedicated to football.

FOOTSAL

Do you have lots of friends and are passionate about sport? You want to relax together, celebrate an event or participate in a course? Thanks to Footsal, all this is now possible: they propose that you hire sports fields: football, volleyball, badminton… as well as participating in tournaments. More than 13 sports are practised there. As its name indicates, the sport reference of the place remains primarily footsal: in 4 against 4 or 5 against 5, the ideal to spend in good mood and technical gestures. From the ease to the foot, it is necessary to shine in the footsal, and younger ones have to sell! It should be said that every day of the week, a professional player at the Lille Olympic Sporting Club gives classes to a class of budding footballers. In addition to this prestigious collaboration (the former bow of the Dogues, Florent Balmont, even the youngest educators), Footsal promotes a football for all: in collaboration with the UNADEV (National Union of Blind and Visually Impaired), the complex introduces children and their parents to the practice of Cécifoot. This handisport makes it possible to develop motor coordination, fair play and team spirit, ideal for football fans! After effort, comfort: A small restaurant and bar awaits you to decompress after sport, for a third half-time. What to spend very good moments between friends, family or even colleagues after a good day of work.

Founded in 1948 in an inner room at bar (including many other clubs at the time), the club Burel never broke with the popular side of marseille football. It is a real monument and elsewhere, m. Morini, founding member, tells us, as an open book, its history and its adventures. Today, there are more than 450 bachelors, all volunteers, and some 25 teams, which is not without placing some problems with facilities for training! Note though that the club won practically all titles like all cuts of the District of Provence, and especially enabled to many young people to pursue a career in football.

STADE CRÉDIT AGRICOLE LA LICORNE

Football

Named after the Unicorn that adorns the city's coat of arms, the new showcase came out of the ground in 1999 and was inaugurated on the occasion of the Champions Trophy between Nantes and Bordeaux on 24 July, won by the Canary Islands (1-0). With around 12,000 seats, this ultra-modern venue could see its capacity increased to 20,000 if one day the Picards discover the elite of French football by reaching Ligue 1. It should be noted that there are multiple room rental formulas. It is then possible to organize seminars, Christmas trees or other events requiring a large place.
