LA SERRURERIE

Bar and caf
4.5/5
2 reviews

Outside of meal times, this café bistro is the fashionable place to meet up with friends over one of the many drinks on the menu, such as mint tea (fresh mint!) or the Viennese chocolate that we are so fond of. La Serru' is the place to be for families, professionals and students. The setting of this bar is very composite. Stay on the first floor if you want to enjoy the incredible main room, its glass roof and its windows... It is one of the few places open in Poitiers on Monday afternoons where you can have a tea with a delicacy (tiramisu, custard...).

LA TAVERNE DE L'IRLANDAIS

Pub
4.5/5
2 reviews

The festival is of all times in this temple impossible to circumvent! There is a perpetual movement here that intoxicates and melts with the scent of Guinness. Irish beer of reference, it is the link between all. It interferes in conversations, it is loved by the lonely, it becomes a chameleon, takes on shades of gold or amber depending on the atmosphere. Friends' reunions, student parties, dating know how to find their place, punctuated by a pool table or a concert. What's more, theme evenings and special rates on all beers are available to students during the school year. These lucky ones take advantage of the "happy hour" on certain products after 9pm. A place of warm winters inside, the Pub l'Irlandais is also a partner in the summer when, on the neighbouring Place Thiers, its terrace is set up and adds stars to the stars in the sky. A place where you can also enjoy a homemade dish of the day.

LA CHOCOLATERIE

Coffee shop and tea room
5/5
1 review

Behind the window, macaroons pyramids with colours and flavours all tempting each other… and you won't be disappointed: they are as delicious in the mouth as watering - to be tasted in moderation, however, like all the good things. Ideally located at the corner of the Swan Square and Marceau square, this small tea salon will seduce more than one season. On the floor, there is a small cocoon of calm, which will warm the hearts in autumn as in winter: soft atmosphere, soft light, and leather armchairs are at the meeting for a small moment. And when spring and summer arrive, the terrace is perfect for enjoying the sun and and of the city. The flip side: with its success, this tea salon often displays complete, and the service is sometimes a little bit long… but the pleasure of finally tasting all these little treats is only greater!

L'OKAPI

Bar and caf
4.5/5
2 reviews

Half-zebra, half giraffe, okapi is an endangered animal, like this atypical bar. Famous for its dry shooters card and burst, which envious the night-old Angevine youth, it has two rooms: one (blue and red, all mosaics and vintage benches) at the top where merry drains are gathered for a drink, and the other in the vaulted cellar with a second bar and colorful stools for lovers of acoustic concerts and DJ evenings. It's a place of connoisseurs, don't expect to see anyone. People come here to find their friends at the closing of the other bars, share a glass by resurrecting the world, around shooters with evocative names: Kamikaze, Orgasm, Monkey Brain… Music evenings are inspired by rock and house/techno. We will regret that the bar is so noisy when it meets…

The Rive Gauche Brasserie, located at the corner of the Battant Bridge and Grand street, is one of the most important places in the city centre with its large terrace as soon as the beautiful days arrive. We love to settle there for a coffee, enjoy an ice cream at the time of snack or try the evening cocktail card! In spite of the tram works that disturb one of the most beautiful views of the Doubs River and the quays, all the city, you will enjoy the surroundings as well as the right atmosphere.

V AND B

Wine bar
4.5/5
2 reviews

The V and B opened its doors last December and brought with it the mythical atmosphere of Irish bars! In a sublime wooden décor with a deep red and emerald green, this amazing place is the ideal marriage for wine lovers and beer enthusiasts: 350 references are waiting for you in this atypical place. When you have crossed the door, you will soon understand that the hardest is to choose, trust Frédéric Pasquier to guide you among brands and specialities. Here, beer has no borders, brown, blonde, amber, triple, Belgian, German, Quebec is in all its forms! The selections of wines are also provided with a beautiful journey that begins with local vintages to go to the end of the world. In essence, a cellar with a portal worthy of a castle protects 40 large bottles. And if you don't hesitate, the best is still to taste them at the after work bar, the huge counter of which makes it possible to dance there as in an English pub. The tonneaux tables are ideal for enjoying a changing map and allègrement in the cellar. V as wine, B as a beer: it's really good!

FRENCH COFFEE SHOP

Bar and caf
4.3/5
4 reviews

A national franchise, a French Coffee Shop is a bit like a neighborhood bar version 2.0, where people come to drink a more sophisticated coffee than a little black at the counter by connecting to the Internet. As a result, people exchange less, and it's sometimes a sketch to see two people sitting next to each other absorbed by their keyboards rather than talking to each other... That's the way things are, and it's a good thing the French Coffee Shop team is on hand to bring a smile and a friendly atmosphere. Since last year, however, the clientele has changed, and the few encounters you could make here seem more hazardous. There's less desire to share your impressions of a macchiato when it's cold or a milkshake when it's hot on the terrace... It's a pity that this address, despite its interesting concept, has taken a direction that we don't necessarily want to follow.

Leave the Old Port and its litany of bars behind and wander down to the little Rue Verdière. It's here that you'll discover a place that's both intimate and atypical. There's no doubt about it, the welcome is warm and the atmosphere pleasant, in a place dedicated to the famous 1970s American series. You only have to look around to realize that the owner, Jérôme, is a former pilot: aviator's jacket and cap, photos of fighter planes, crest, models... The decor leaves no room for doubt! This fan of Commander Greg Boyington's adventures has created a world of his own that will win you over. With this unspeakable setting and atmosphere, you'd almost forget to mention Jérôme's two specialities: a rum bar (with a serious menu featuring... 100 different rums), Belgian beers and a choice of 10 different champagnes. For those of you who don't know what you're talking about, there's also a cocktail menu named after the actors in the series, of course! Note that every third Thursday of the month in "r", we come to taste oysters directly from the oyster farmer Cyril Parpaix, located in Anse de la Patache (at the end of the island).

PADDY ROCK

Beer bar
4.2/5
5 reviews

Formerly known as Paddy O'Neills, this Irish-inspired pub with its distinctive facade has been a quasi-institution in Chailly-en-Bière for many years. Its owner, dynamic and friendly, is full of good ideas to celebrate in the evening, with rock, jazz or improv concerts, disco or 1980s evenings, football atmospheres thanks to the various screens arranged in the rooms, and many other surprises to discover according to the programs of the moment. The typical decoration with its batch of bars, stools and other barrels, serving as tables, is successful, and the presence of adjoining rooms allows everyone to enjoy the atmosphere, or even to privatize part of the pub as needed. In addition to a wide choice of beers and alcohols, Paddy Rock also offers simple dishes to eat on the go (plates of cheese, hams and bruschettas in particular). This establishment is a real favorite because it succeeds in meeting the challenge of suiting all types of audiences, young and old. Our advice: to keep up to date on the events scheduled, it is better to take a look at the pub's Facebook page rather than its website.

This friendly place offers a purring interlude in the heart of downtown. Take a seat on the small, brocante-style wooden tables and let yourself be tamed by the cats on hand. The concept is the brainchild of Sophie Allain, who opened a bar specializing in "purr therapy" in the Saint-Germain district, with a concept that comes from Japan and has proved its worth. On site, this cat bar offers a "cocooning, home-like" space with hot drinks, sweet snacks and a library corner. The strength of the address lies in purr therapy, and to create it, many charming animals come from various associations: so you can easily adopt them. So you can sit back, enjoy the cats present for your purr-fect fix, and watch them play with games and wall runs set out for them. Inside the bar, everything is perfectly organized, with automatic litter boxes and no pets allowed in the kitchen. The animals are chosen to be particularly cuddly and adaptable, and get on well with each other, so there's no risk of fights or feline depression. All are adoptable and deserve a second chance!

An invitation to relax and indulge yourself, as Pimprenelle is open right next to Pozzoli's. It took three months of work so that Pimprenelle -name of one of the fairies which leaned over the cradle of the sleeping beauty- takes on its final form. In your turn, let yourself be lulled by the beauty of this place where you immediately feel comfortable and happy to share delightful moments on a large table within a decor displaying soft colours. A friendly and charming team serves all the seasonal homemade delicacies. Of course, there are teas, more than twenty, made by Comptoir Français du Thé to kick off the day or during tea time. Breakfast, lunch with hot toast, -such as this summer aubergine with goat cheese, another salmon or one with Lyon sausage-, cold toasts -chicken, raw vegetable, Chorizo peppers…- tasty dishes -salmon or duck- and salads, not to forget the soups in winter and all the small cakes to enjoy at any time. Brunch every Sunday. A new tearoom as we like it to be for well-deserved rest and meal in the heart of the city.

CAFÉ DE LA CONCORDE

Neighborhood bar
4.5/5
2 reviews

There are places that you just can't get enough of, that are part of a city's DNA. Such is the case with Café de la Concorde. Located in the elegant Chalets district, it is one of Toulouse's oldest bars, having been founded in the 1880s. Its façade, with its majestic marquise, is a listed building. This venerable institution has been taken over by Nicolas Martinez, who has dusted it off a bit. He has given it a facelift, while retaining its Belle Époque charm: upholstered banquettes, marble-topped pedestal tables and colorful chairs for sipping a cocktail or enjoying a cup of coffee. Come and enjoy the historic setting and neighborhood atmosphere!

Elegant and intimate, Papa Doble is one of the city's top cocktail bars. Until recently, the establishment was included in the list of the 50 best bars in the world. In a very elaborate setting, both sober and design, inspired by the works of Ernest Hemingway, the bar's team offers very original creations. Unusual ingredients, little known alcohols and atypical syrups, the cocktails reveal unusual aromas. The vaulted aspect of the room and the boudoir decoration give a very intimate and even naughty atmosphere to this place.

Under the beautiful vaults of the 14th century, Audrey, specialising in french pastry, and Marion, specialising in cupcakes and American cakes, both of them pastry chefs, opened this pastry in the place of La Girafe restaurant, well-known by the inhabitants of Montpellier. Specialties of millefeuille, lemon tart, and especially the turned brioche, everything is homemade with quality ingredients. Beware of the head upstairs. At lunchtime, there are two daily specials including one gluten-free. Note the canistrelli, delicious Corsican biscuits with chocolate, orange, olive oil and white wine.
