Pick-up and transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Steps: Parc National De Nyungwe
After breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, our driver-guide will pick you up and take you to Nyungwe Forest. On the way, you'll visit the Royal Palace of Nyanza, followed by lunch at one of the local restaurants. After lunch, you'll continue on to Nyungwe, where you'll check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Cyangugu
Steps: Cyangugu Rusizi
After an early breakfast, you'll set off on the chimpanzee trek. Nyungwe is a vast mountain rainforest of over 1000 km², home to 13 species of primates, over 275 species of birds and 100 varieties of orchids. After your trek, enjoy lunch before being driven to Cyangugu, where you check into your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Boat trip on Lake Kivu and transfer to Gisenyi
Steps: Gisenyi Rubavu
After breakfast, you'll embark on a boat trip from Cyangugu to Gisenyi. Along the way, you'll enjoy magnificent views of Lake Kivu. On arrival in Gisenyi, you'll have lunch, then relax at the lodge or visit the fishing villages. In the evening, dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Transfer from Gisenyi to Volcanoes National Park
Steps: Parc National Des Volcans
You'll wake up to a late breakfast, then your Lion Safaris driver-guide will take you to Volcanoes National Park. On arrival, you'll enjoy lunch, then in the afternoon, you'll attend an Ibyiwacu cultural performance, showcasing Rwandan culture. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Gorilla trekking
Steps: Parc National Des Volcans
After an early breakfast, the driver-guide will pick you up and take you to the park headquarters for a briefing on the rules for gorilla encounters. You'll then begin your gorilla-watching trek. After this unforgettable experience, you'll return to the lodge for lunch, before visiting the twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo. At the end of the day, you'll be taken back to your lodge for dinner and overnight
Transfer to Akagera National Park
Steps: Parc National De L'Akagera
In the morning, after breakfast, you'll be picked up and driven to Akagera National Park. On arrival, check in at the lodge, then enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you'll set off on a boat trip on Lake Ihema, where you can observe water birds, crocodiles and hippos. After this experience, you'll be taken back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Full-day and night safaris
Steps: Parc National De L'Akagera
After breakfast at your lodge, you'll set off on a full-day safari in Akagera Park. You'll have the opportunity to see a wide variety of wildlife. At the end of the day, you'll return to the lodge, then get ready for a night safari where you'll be able to spot nocturnal animals such as leopards, hyenas, jackals and much more. After this nocturnal safari, you'll return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Back to Kigali
In the morning, after breakfast, you will check out. The Lion Safaris driver-guide will pick you up and start your journey back to Kigali. He'll drop you off at your hotel, your home or the airport to catch your flight home.
