On arrival in Accra, you'll be warmly welcomed by our team and transferred to your accommodation for a moment's rest after your journey.

Your adventure begins with a discovery of Ghana's vibrant capital, where modernity and tradition blend harmoniously. First stop: Black Star Square, symbol of Ghana's independence and a landmark steeped in history.

Continue your exploration with an immersive one-hour stroll through Accra's old quarter, at the heart of its vibrant local life. You'll have the unique opportunity to meet traditional chiefs, the true guardians of ancestral customs, and attend a traditional naming ceremony, an authentic and moving experience that will plunge you into the heart of Ghanaian culture.

From Accra to Mole - Cultural immersion and night safari

Steps: Mole National Park

After breakfast, departure from the hotel at 10:00 am for Accra airport. Boarding at 12:30 pm for Tamale, arriving at 1:30 pm.

On arrival, you'll be met by your private driver and taken to the Tamale chief's palace. You'll witness a traditional ritual in which a gourd of kola is offered as a sign of respect. Talk to the chief and his elders, see his ceremonial horses and, if you're lucky, meet his family as they prepare traditional meals.

In the afternoon, departure for Mole National Park (approx. 2h30 to 3h drive). On the way, stop in Larabanga for a 20-minute visit to its historic mosque, one of the oldest in West Africa, famous for its unique Sudanese architecture.

On arrival in Mole, check-in at Zaina Lodge, then transfer at 6.40pm to the safari office for a 3-hour night game drive to discover the wildlife, including rare nocturnal species.

Explore Mole - Walking safari, cultural immersion and 4x4 safari

Steps: Mole National Park

Start your day at 6:40 am with a 2-hour walking safari through Mole National Park, a unique opportunity to observe the park's wildlife and natural splendor up close.

After breakfast, depart at 11:00 for Mognori Eco Village, where you embark on a 45-minute canoe safari on the Mole River, offering a unique perspective on the surrounding ecosystem. You continue with a 45-minute immersive walk through the village to discover local traditions and the daily lives of its inhabitants.

Return to the lodge for a moment of relaxation before another 3-hour 4x4 safari, departing at 3.10 pm, to explore more of the park's wildlife at sunset.

Last safari in Mole and return to Accra

Steps: Accra

Your day starts early with a 3-hour walking safari, departing at 6.40am, offering the ultimate opportunity to admire the flora and fauna of Mole National Park. After this immersion in nature, return to Zaina Lodge for a moment of relaxation before your departure.

At 12:30 pm, departure by private transfer for Tamale airport (2h30 to 3h drive). Boarding at 5:30pm for Accra, arrival at 6:30pm.

On arrival in Accra, private transfer to your hotel. Check-in and the rest of the day is free to relax.

Wli waterfalls, monkey sanctuary and Kente weaving

Steps: Wli

After breakfast, depart at 7:30 a.m. for an excursion to Wli Falls, the highest waterfalls in West Africa. After around 4 hours' drive, set off on an immersive 6-hour hike, exploring the upper and lower falls in a spectacular natural setting.

Continue on to the Tafi Atome monkey sanctuary, where you can observe the protected green monkeys up close and learn about the conservation efforts put in place by the local community.

The exploration continues to the kente weaving village of Tafi Abuife, renowned for its colorful textiles and ancestral craftsmanship. You'll meet passionate craftsmen and learn about the importance of Kente in Ghanaian culture.

After a day rich in discoveries, return to the Volta Serene Hotel for the night.

Day 6

Epic hike through the Volta mountains and waterfalls

Depart the hotel at 6:30 a.m. for an immersive 8-hour hike through the breathtaking Liate Wote landscape. The adventure begins with a 2-hour ascent to the Twin Mountains, before continuing to Mount Torklo and the Togolese border, where you'll discover Togo's first village.

The trek continues with a 2-hour ascent to Mount Aduadu, offering spectacular panoramic views, before reaching Mount Afadja, Ghana's highest peak, for a final one-hour climb. The expedition ends in style with a refreshing break at Tagbo Falls (30 min to 1 hr).

After this intense and invigorating day, return to Ho for a relaxing evening at the hotel.

From Ho to Kpalimé - Between art and nature

Steps: Kpalimé

Depart Ho for Daffor (approx. 1 hour's drive), where you will cross the border into Togo. Your adventure continues with a 2-hour hike to Kuma Konda, a village renowned for its unique artistic installations on doors and windows, testifying to the rich local cultural heritage.

You then continue on to Kpalimé, a lush region known for its green landscapes, mountains and peaceful atmosphere, ideal for an immersion in nature.

Hiking on Mont Agou and craft immersion in Kpalimé

Steps: Kpalimé

Set off on a half-day hike to Mount Agou, Togo's highest point. The climb leads to Agou Dzigbe, a charming hilltop community offering spectacular views over the surrounding plains.

In the late afternoon, explore the arts and crafts stores of Kpalimé, where you'll discover the talent of local artisans through their sculptures, paintings and textiles.

In the evening, departure for Lomé, where you'll spend the night.

Day 9

Agricultural and cultural immersion from Kpalimé to Lomé

Discover Kpalimé Dzokoto and the farms of the Haut Plateau, where you'll plunge into the heart of local farming traditions. Observe the cultivation of coffee and cocoa, the region's economic mainstays, and share an authentic moment with the farmers.

Continue on to Davedi, a typical Ewe community, for an immersive cultural experience. Explore the farmlands, including pineapple plantations, chat with village elders about twin dolls, and enjoy a local lunch with traditional flavors.

For an extra touch of authenticity, a visit to a Fulani (nomad) camp is possible before returning to Lomé for the night.

Discover Lomé and drive to Akosombo

Steps: Lomé

Start the day with an immersive visit to the fetish market, a fascinating place where spirituality and voodoo traditions come together. Continue with a visit to the bustling Grand Marché de Lomé, the nerve center of local commerce.

In the late morning, explore the villages on the outskirts of Lomé, offering an authentic insight into the daily lives and traditions of the local people.

In the afternoon, depart for Akosombo, a peaceful town on the shores of Lake Volta, where you'll spend the night.

Volta Lake cruise and Shai Hills adventure

Steps: Akosombo

Start the morning with a relaxing cruise on Lake Volta, surrounded by peaceful, lush landscapes. Take advantage of this unique moment to admire one of the world's largest man-made reservoirs.

Continue your day with a 2-hour hike to the Shai Hills reserve, exploring its caves and grasslands while observing a variety of wildlife: baboons, antelopes and exotic birds.

The adventure continues with an immersion in the neighboring villages, where you'll discover the local way of life before heading back to Accra, where you'll spend the night.

History and nature - From Cape Coast to Kakum

Steps: Accra

Highlights of the day:

  • Exploring Cape Coast Castle
  • Visit Assin Manso


Morning departure from Accra for a 3-hour drive to Cape Coast. En route, stop at Assin Manso, a major historic site of the transatlantic slave trade. You'll discover the famous "Slave River", where captives were washed before their long and painful journey to the unknown.

After this poignant visit, continue to Cape Coast.

On arrival, take a guided tour of Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This emblematic site of the slave trade will plunge you into the dark history of slavery, with the discovery of oppressive dungeons and the infamous "door of no return". This deeply moving experience is rounded off by a visit to the château's museum, rich in stories and accounts of this tragic era.

After this emotionally-charged day, check into the Charlestina Beach Resort, where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful ocean view.

End of trip and departure

Steps: Accra

Start your day with a relaxing breakfast at the resort. Afterwards, depart for *Kakum National Park, just a short drive from Cape Coast. Kakum is renowned for its lush rainforest and the famous **Canopy Walkway*, a series of suspension bridges that offer unique views of the forest below. You'll have the chance to explore the park's flora and fauna and admire the breathtaking views from the canopy.

After visiting Kakum, you'll continue your journey to Accra. Once in Accra, you'll be transferred to the airport in time for your flight home.
