Day 1: Kasaragod
Steps: Bekal
Arrival in Kasaragod via Mangalore. Visit to Bekal Fort, the largest in Kerala. It offers exceptional views of the surrounding beaches and is often used as a natural backdrop for film productions. First taste of exquisite Malabar cuisine.
Day 2: Nileshwar
Steps: Nileshwar
Departure in the morning to Nileshwar, cruise on the Valiyaparamba's backwaters, much less tourist than their counterparts in the south. Dinner in one of the many resorts along the Malabar coast. In the evening, attend a Theyyam, keralais traditional art.
Day 3: Relaxation in Nileshwar
Bicycle tour along the coast, visit of the fishing villages. Afternoon devoted to swimming and sunbathing on the long beach bordered by coconut trees.
Day 4: Thalasserry
To take the pulse of the city, nothing better than attending the morning fish market on the beach. The famous Tellicherry pepper can also be found on the stalls of this old British counter.
Day 6: Calicut
Steps: Kozhikode
A typical major city of Kerala, Calicut is worth visiting for its history, its religious diversity, but above all for its culinary specialities inherited from the Muslim merchants who came to trade there.
Day 7: Kochi
Steps: Kochi
Enjoy the island of Fort Cochin, its Chinese carrelets and Princess Street. Visit its important monuments: the Jewish quarter and its synagogue, the basilica of Santa Cruz, the fish and spices market, the palace of Mattancherry. In the evening, attend a performance of {1}Kathakali{/1} in one of the city's cultural centres. Dinner in one of the many excellent restaurants on the island.
