Day 1: Modern Skopje

Arrival in the Macedonian capital. Discover the city center, rehabilitated since 2008, and which offers a heterogeneous mix of architectural styles, with a little air of Disneyland.

Day 2: Skopje the Ottoman

Get lost in the streets of Carsija, the old Ottoman city, and discover its Bit Bazaar, shops, mosques and old Turkish baths.

Day 3: Kumanovo and Kratovo Region

Steps: Lesnovo

This region is still under tension today, and it should be approached with caution. We will visit the monasteries of Saint-Georges-le-Martyr and Lesnvo, and the many remains of the civilizations that have traversed these lands. Night in Kratovo.

Day 4: Berovo, the "Little Switzerland

Steps: Berovo

At the foot of the Malesevo massif, the village of Berevo is perfect for a natural stopover. Stroll around the area and take a breath of fresh air. Night in Berovo.

Day 5: Strumica and Lake Dojran (see chapter "Southeast")

Steps: Dojran, Strumica

Visit of the city of Strumica, before leaving for Lake Dojran, straddling Macedonia and Greece. Enjoy the shores of the lake before ending the day by walking around the city. Night in Dojran.

Day 6: Wine Route

Steps: Veles, Kavadarci, Demir Kapija

The climate of south-eastern Macedonia makes it a region favourable for wine production. From Veles to Neogotino, discover its vineyards. Night in Demir Kapija or Kavadarci.

Day 7: Prilep, at the crossroads of civilizations

Steps: Prilep

We will not stay long in the city centre, we will mainly visit the surroundings, with many churches, the monastery of Treskavec, the towers of Marko and the tobacco museum on the way.

Day 8: Pelagonia Plain

Steps: Bitola, Kruševo

Start with a stopover in Bitola to visit its mosques, Turkish bazaar, churches and archaeological site that bear witness to past civilisations, before heading towards Kruševo. This city clinging to the mountains is one of the most beautiful in Macedonia. Night in Kruševo.

Day 9: Stroll in the Pelister National Park

Steps: Parc National Du Pelister

Go hiking, whether on foot or by mountain bike. You will be able to enjoy a dense fauna and flora, with in particular the forests of Molika pines, emblematic of Macedonia. Night in Bitola or in the Pelister National Park.

Day 10: Prespa Lake

Steps: Ohrid

Bordered by the mountains, this lake offers a magnificent setting for a nature excursion. In addition, it is a large ornithological reserve. Overnight on the shores of Lake Prespa or in Ohrid.

Day 11: The Millennium City of Ohrid

Discovery of this city sip of history. Visit the old town with its numerous churches, antique theatre and beautiful frescoes. Night in Ohrid.

Day 12: Villages by the waterfront

Don't just visit the city. Take a day to stroll along the shores of the lake. Pass through the many small villages that border it, without forgetting to take a break for a swim. Night in Ohrid.

Day 13: Stopover in Tetovo

Steps: Tetovo, Parc National De Mavrovo

In Tetovo, visit the mosque and the Arabati Baba tekké, before heading to Mavrovo National Park.

Day 14: Hiking in Mavrovo National Park

In Tetovo, visit the mosque and the Arabati Baba tekke, before heading to Mavrovo National Park, which stretches between the Korab, Sar and Bistra rivers, and let yourself be carried away by the diversity and beauty of the landscape, between snow-covered peaks, rocky cliffs, forests, meadows and lakes. Return the same evening or overnight in Skopje and departure the next day.
