Day 1: Santa Monica and Mulholland Drive

Steps: Los Angeles, Mulholland Drive

Start your Californian stay with a trip to Santa Monica Pier and make a break at the permanent carnival. Marvel at the performances of street artists on Third Street Promenade. Take a trip to the Sunset Strip and have a coffee at the Mulholland Drive at night and stop at the point of view to overlook the Angel's city.

Day 2: Hollywood Boulevard

Stroll through the Hollywood Boulevard. Don't miss a stopover at In-N-Out, a typical California fast food address offering quality meat in its burgers and not-frozen fries for less than US$ 5. Take a few photos with the stars at , then climb the steps of the , where the Oscars ceremony takes place every year. To keep your head at the stars, go to the where the tombs of many celebrities of the showbiz are located.

Day 3: Runyon Canyon and Malibu Beach

Start the morning with a hike in Runyon Canyon Park, north of Hollywood Boulevard. If you're lucky, you'll spot coyotes. Then book a relaxing afternoon at Malibu Beach. Take in the view from the Point Dume bluff. On your way back, don't forget to stop by the Getty Villa, the second branch of the Getty Museum, dedicated to Greek, Roman and Etruscan cultures.

Day 4: Larchmont Village and Grove

Steps: Los Angeles

In the morning, stroll through the Larchmont Village, a very cute avenue where you will find clothing shops as well as paper mills and bookshops. You'll find a snack in one of the two terraces of the adorable . Continue the walk on Melrose Avenue, the ideal place to find vintage clothes. Then go down to the Grove and the . If you have a good enough in English, go to a stand-up show at the Laugh Factory on Sunset Boulevard.

Day 5: Santa Barbara

Take two days to walk north and explore Santa Barbara. Be sure to visit the Hearst Castle, a castle of the former press tycoon William Randolph Hearst, who inspired Orson Welles for the character of Charles Foster Kane.

Day 7: LACMA and Beverly Hills

Spend the morning at LACMA. For lunch, head to the Jewish Quarter just a short walk away. The kosher Fish Grill is a true institution, serving a plate of grilled fish with a generous portion of fries and salad. Then spend the afternoon in Beverly Hills. Marvel at Rodeo Drive and its luxury shops. Grab a snack at the legendary Beverly Wilshire Hotel, which was the setting for the movie Pretty Woman.

Day 8: Santa Ana and Newport Beach

Start exploring Orange County early in the morning. Visit Santa Ana and spend the rest of the day in Newport Beach, or sail to visit Catalina Island.

Day 9: Universal Studios

Reserve the day to have a good time at Universal city and see a movie in IMAX in the cinema of CityWalk. Spend the evening in Koreatown to eat a Korean barbecue.

Day 10: Pasadena and Glendale

Take the morning to discover the northern district of the city, Pasadena and Glendale. Stop at the outdoor shopping centre Americana for shopping. In the afternoon, visit Silver Lake and Los Feliz and take in a painting exhibition at Avenue 50 Studio, a gallery created by a group of Mexican artists. Enjoy a refined dinner at Café Stella Restaurant where you may have the opportunity to see a celebrity.

Day 11: Monterey Park

You can't spend two weeks in the U.S. without going at least once to an outlet, this kind of huge mall that resembles a miniature city. However, before spending the afternoon at Citadel, take a stroll through Monterey Park, the new Chinatown where you can find the best Chinese cuisine in the city. At a very reasonable price, Lincoln Plaza Hotel's restaurant also offers Hong Kong specialities, such as a range of dim sum and bread stuffed with meat selected on a trolley.

Day 12: San Pedro and Long Beach

Steps: Los Angeles, San Pedro, Long Beach

Explore the south of Los Angeles, starting from the port of San Pedro, where you can choose your fish on the market, cook it and enjoy it at a picnic table enjoying a sea view. Go east to reach Long Beach and rent a bike for an invigorating walk on the seafront. Finally, visit Long Beach and houses a hotel and restaurants.
