Day 1: Visit Maputo: the tour of the colonial buildings

Steps: Maputo

The Algarve villa, the currency museum, the railway station (CFM), the Eiffel house... Compose your tour around these points of interest. The Chissano Museum and the Nucleo de Arte, located in a former colonial house, are also worth a visit. Enjoy the waterfront. In the evening, immerse yourself in the city's nightlife, many lively weekend bars offer concerts. Chez Nous Jazz Café, inside the railway station (CFM), is the best place in town to listen to jazz.

Day 2: Costa do Sol and the fishermen's village

Steps: Maputo

For a walk by the sea, there are three possibilities for you: go back to foot in three hours; walk on foot, return to chapa; return to chapa. In arriving, a little before the fishermen's village, there is a café-restaurant known for years and very popular at all Maputo: Costa do Sol. This is the ideal place for a good time of relaxation, do not hesitate if you have a small trough, it is very good. You are recommended for garlic grilled giant garlic!

Day 3: The island of Inhaca, between ocean and lagoon

Steps: Maputo

Off Maputo, Inhaca Island is a relaxing excursion an hour from the capital. In front of the Incaha Lodge, where you will land, it is a lagoon, the waters are rather cloudy green, the bottom a little muddy. But we can swim there without any problems. Farther away, in the northeast of the island and near the lighthouse, between the ocean and the lagoon, there is a much more attractive and wild beach. The sand is whiter, the waters are bluer and clearer. By foot, it is relatively long (about 3h, 5h to 6h round trip), you will cross mangroves, small plateaus and palm groves. Another solution is to use the village tractor, which is also used to transport tourists, but be prepared to pay the price. Finally, the last beaches of interest are certainly those on the ocean side. They are wild, deserted, spirited, and dangerous for swimming. To reach them, you must have a boat.

Day 4: Ponta d'Ouro, famous diving spot

Steps: Maputo, Catembe, Ponta Do Ouro

Ponta do Ouro is famous in South Africa and Mozambique for being an excellent diving site. Clear waters, corals, dolphins, whales in July, sometimes sharks and large fish of all kinds all year round. From Maputo, chapas (collective buses) make the trip twice a week. Alternatively, you can go to Catembe, where departures take place daily at 7am. Travel agencies, as well as hotels and establishments in Ponto do Ouro, can arrange the transfer for you. Plan a minimum of 2 days
