Day 1: Arrival in Ulan Bator
Steps: Oulan-Bator
The day can be devoted to visiting the Gandan monastery, and one or two museums in the capital.

Day 2: Walk in the steppe
Steps: Mandalgov
Departure for Baga Gazaryn Chuluuu, an amazing granite formation in the middle of the steppes. The place is ideal for walks, which will allow you to discover, among other things, a small ruined temple, nestled in a wooded gorge (the last trees before the desert!).

Day 3: First steps in the desert
The road continues to the south, and we are now entering desert areas. Several sites deserve a stop in the day, including the small lake Sangiyn Dalay Nuur and the ruins of the castle Khukh Burd.
Day 4: The monastery of Ongiin
Another day's drive south leads to the monastery of Ongiin. Located at the entrance of a beautiful gorge, this huge monastery was razed by the Soviets in the 1930s. The ruins on both sides of the river have a very special atmosphere, and one can get lost for hours in the ochre light of the end of the day.
Day 5: In the footsteps of the dinosaurs
The mountain landscape changes in a flat desert, to the cliffs of Bayanzag, whose bright red slice on the pastel of the decor. It was on this site that many dinosaur fossils were uncovered.
Day 6: Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park
It is one of the largest parks in the country. It offers landscapes of a wide variety. The Yolyn Am gorge offers beautiful walks along the river or on the surrounding mountain ridges.
Day 7: Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park (continued)
Steps: Khongoryn Els
Further west of Yolyn Am are the country's large sand dunes, the Khongoryn Els, behind which lies an imposing mountain range
Day 8: On the way to the north
Steps: Arvaikheer, Khujirt
It is time to start the return north, towards Arvaïkheer and then Khujirt. The landscapes alternate steep mountains and flatter desert
Day 9: En route to the north (continued)
After a stopover in the last nomadic nomads, go on the road. There are few cultural sites on this very wild portion of the circuit, but you will enjoy unique scenery.
Day 10: Arrival at the Chutes falls
Steps: Khujirt
Arrival at the Chutes falls after following the impressive valley carved by the river in this landscape still semi desert.
CHUTES DE L'ORKHON
Day 11: The monastery of Erdene Zuuu
Steps: Karakorum, Kharkhorin
Departure for Kharkhorin and visit of themonastère d'Erdene Zuu.
Day 12: Return to Ulaanbaatar
A day of road to go to Ulaanbaatar, possibly a stop in the Hustaï National Park, which houses the takhi horses (also called "De").
Day 13: Last day in the capital
Steps: Oulan-Bator
Day in Ulaanbaatar, for the last shopping, a visit to a last museum or the palace of Bogd Khaan.
