THE OX
Read moreSpecializing in American-style meats and cocktails, The Ox is Bristol's go-to address for carnivores. Portions aren't necessarily huge for first-rate diners, but it's in the quality of the meat that the real difference lies. You can come for lunch at a lower price, or in the evening in a classier setting. The atmosphere is subdued, with dark colors. We particularly recommend you try the traditional Sunday lunchtime roast, a favorite with the locals.
HARBOUR FISH & CHIPS
Read moreHarbour Fish & Chips is ideally located on St Ives harbor. Fish and seafood are locally caught and served either grilled or breaded (the traditional Fish & Chips). You can choose the fish on your plate: cod, haddock, sea bass, hake, lemon sole, mackerel... Everything is crunchy, melt-in-your-mouth, nicely presented, and surprisingly light for a fish & chip. To be enjoyed with a Cornish ale. A great option for a typical, local lunch!

But be warned, prices are accordingly high and, above all, you'll need to book in advance to secure your place and make sure you don't miss out on this gustatory experience. The chef now has eight addresses throughout southern England.

Also worth noting is the friendly welcome and professional service.
