The Restos du Coeur de l'Isère, it's more than 23 000 people welcomed and nearly 3 000 000 meals distributed, 1 000 volunteers. That's good, but do you think it's normal? The long-term disappearance of the Restos du Coeur was Coluche's wish. No more Restos, no more people on the street or in need, no more people who are hungry! While waiting for poverty and precariousness to diminish, let's all show solidarity by helping the Restos du Coeur by making donations or by becoming a volunteer. You can also help by taking part in the association's activities: food distribution, street activities, school support, help for mothers with the Restos bébé...

Secours Catholique, whose primary mission is to spread the essential notion of charity, helps all people in difficulty, the elderly, the very poor, whatever their faith or origin. There are also missions abroad. You can become a volunteer in Grenoble, like many people in Isère, in the animation of groups of children or elderly people for example. There are specialised centres for asylum seekers, prisons, the Night Train or to go on pilgrimage to Lourdes. To be useful in your turn, become a volunteer or make a donation, even outside the national collections.

Emmaüs is nothing new. And it's worth remembering the action taken by Abbé Pierre during the terrible winter of 1954 to help the most destitute. Emmaüs, founded in 1949, continues its work today, notably with the famous Compagnons who continue to clear out your attics and salvage objects for resale. The originality of this store is that it's right in the center of town, a second-hand store that makes it easier for everyone to take part in this spirit of solidarity, but also to make good bargains at low prices (discount for 16/26 year-olds). The work of Swiss Henry Dunant, who began in 1859 at the Battle of Solferino to rescue soldiers from both sides, continues on its path of help and peace. The Isère Red Cross, among the hundred or so departmental delegations of this association, acts in the field of emergencies, solidarity, health and provides first aid training to all those who wish to know the actions that save lives. Among its other missions, listening, food aid, refugee aid and social SAMU. You can volunteer, donate clothes or toys. Small acts of solidarity that contribute to the existence of the Red Cross.
