Teo, the owner, began by installing a distillery in the beautiful vaulted cellar, where he produces an award-winning pălincă (traditional fruit brandy). He then fitted out six rooms combining Saxon tradition and modern comfort. They are arranged around a charming courtyard and each has its own character. Teo (who speaks French) will bring you croissants every morning.

This is one of the city's best addresses, offering excellent value for money. It's located close to the center, in an attractive residential neighborhood. A recent boutique hotel in an excellent location on the Place de la Citadelle. The building, which dates back to the early ^16th century, boasts fine frescoes, including a hunting scene in black ink. Its 29 rooms, some with vaulted ceilings, are tastefully decorated with fine wooden furniture. The hotel also boasts a restaurant serving Romanian dishes for around €10. An excellent address, very good value for money. You'll be staying in what was once Sighisoara's town hall.

Although the building, of modern architecture, seems cold, the interior is far from it. The Lol and Lola Hotel's main feature is its rooms. Colourful, original and modern, they are all unique, with a different design and theme: sixties, seventh art, rock'n'roll... Each one tells a story. In addition to this atmosphere, the hotel enjoys a good location, less than 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Finally, the place is very quiet, the staff is helpful, the breakfast buffet is complete and of high quality and a parking lot is available on site.

You could almost get lost in the corridors and staircases of this elegant "Maison du cerf". The rooms are well-kept and beautifully appointed, with wrought-iron and wooden furniture. If you're lucky, you'll even get a superb view of the old town's central square. The place owes its name to the fresco that occupies the corner of the outside wall: two symmetrical stags, with a single head at the corner of the wall, topped with real antlers. Listed as a historic monument, it is one of the oldest buildings in the citadel.

This establishment, which offers good value for money, enjoys a very central location: it occupies a beautiful 18th century pink house, situated on the corner of the main square of the town.
