Read moreIn addition to the bus service, Yélo is also a car-sharing service combining two systems: electric cars (black roof) to be picked up spontaneously and dropped off wherever you wish within the authorized perimeter, and hybrid cars (yellow roof) to be reserved and returned to their point of departure. A total of 48 vehicles of different sizes are available for short journeys in the conurbation, or trips lasting several days. Membership and subscription are totally free: you only pay for what you use! A practical, economical and comfortable way to get around the city, the region and beyond, as you please. Once you've signed up, using the service is very simple: all you have to do is geolocate and, if necessary, reserve the car using the Yélomobile application. The vehicle is opened with a badge or the app. Once you're inside, you collect the key using a confidential code, and all you have to do is drive off! If you already subscribe to the CITIZ car-sharing service elsewhere in France, you can access Yélomobile simply by asking your usual operator. Reciprocally, as a Yélomobile user you have access to the 170 cities in the Citiz network!

While the people of La Rochelle love to stroll along the Old Harbour, many also take the Sea Bus, an easy link between the city center and the Minimes district. It's a great way to get to an area renowned for its many restaurants, its famous ice cream parlour and its beach. Embark on the Vauban to get from Bourcefranc-le-Chapus to Oléron Castle and discover the historic capital of the island and its citadel. Be careful, however, at the time of return, some have already been stuck on the island! To go to Marennes, borrow the Balusot for a 10-minute crossing. It is a good opportunity for cycling, along the channel and ostresiastic huts and visiting the oyster city. Boats do not sail every day and the agenda depends on tides. It is best to call or get the schedules at the Tourist Office.

Read more8 regular lines per day allow the discovery of the surroundings of Rochefort. They serve Royan, Port-des-Boats, Surgères, Château-d'Oléron, Tonnay-Charente, Fouras and Saint-Jean-d'Angély, with several rotations per day for each of these destinations. For example, a tour on the island of Oléron to walk on the ramparts of the castle citadel will return to 6,70 €, a stopover on the peninsula of Fouras 2,70 € and to Tonnay-Charente 0,90 €. Furthermore, a bus network, called R'bus, serves Rochefort and Tonnay-Charente. Its 6 lines serve 150 stop points on both cities. The ticket is 0,90 euros, the book of 10 journeys to 7,50 €. Finally, a shuttle takes you to the Gare station (6,40 € the journey) at the TGV departure HOURS for Paris. During summer, a shuttle connects the Château-d'Oléron in Surgères in connection with the TGV for Paris.
