The Messaline, a typical 17 m white and red wooden boat, offers trips and fishing at sea. Rides (1h) go from the port of Les Sables (commented port exit), along the wild coast of La Chaume to the lighthouse of Les Barges. For fishing, Philippe, the captain, will take you to fishy areas and will advise you on fishing techniques. The atmosphere on board is nice; you can take your snack with you. You will come back with the fish you have caught! For groups, and the privatization of the boat, ask for information.

This (artificial) lake offers sportsmen and women the opportunity to go jogging, cycling, canoeing, rowing and sailing in the open air, since the municipal sailing school has set up its beacons there. On foot, the walk starts by crossing the dam with a breathtaking view of the lake. A path goes all around the lake (19 km), and botanical indications are offered to walkers, the terminals presented are accessible to blind people. This circuit has a common section with the GR de pays "between Vie and Yon", marked in yellow and red.

A 34-hectare estate is home to the Tépacap park, with its many activities: adventure park, paintball, archery, orienteering course, open-air laser game. This space brings together several sports activities: squash courts, a bouldering area of 600 ㎡ surface dedicated to climbing including walls to climb of different levels (from 4 years) as well as an interactive wall, a trampoline area with Dodgeball through the lines or WalkWall, enough to put your speed, flexibility and agility to work. The Kidzone is a play area for children on 4 levels, for children from 1 to 12 years. Safety is guaranteed with large mats to cushion falls and the advice of a supervisor.

This large equestrian center between forest and sea, offers rides in the forest or on the beach. The following activities are on offer: baby pony, traditional horseback riding, introductory and advanced courses, pony and horse rides and excursions, as well as carriage driving. At weekends and during the vacations, the club offers activities, courses, rides and excursions... We can also accommodate horses and riders.

On the seafront, behind the harbor, the Bourgenay Golf Club has two 18-hole courses, one championship course, combining a marine atmosphere, a national forest and a view of the marina, and the other, a Pitch and Putt course unique in France, which allows players of all levels to work on their short game while having fun. The first golf course created in the Vendée, this Californian-style course designed by Michel Gayon is perfectly integrated into this natural environment. It is a CPIE Pays de Nantes-accredited association, which is a network of players working for the environment in the Nantes conurbation. Écopôle offers a range of educational programs and actions in the area, including nature walks, educational projects, training courses and teaching resources. They also work on themes such as water management, biodiversity, waste, responsible eating and energy.

The Comité Départemental Retraite Sportive de la Vendée is an association based in La Roche-sur-Yon. Their site offers information on hikes, guides and trails, as well as on available training courses. They also offer an order form for marking equipment, as well as a device called Suricate for reporting anomalies on hiking trails. What's more, they offer the possibility of discovering hiking for a day, a week or a month with the Pass Découverte.

Located in the heart of a 200-hectare property, the La Garangeoire riding centre offers activities for all levels. Different options are available: lessons in the arena, introduction to pony riding and games, forest rides and training days (except in July and August). Another option is horse riding holidays, with accommodation at Castel Camping La Garangeoire, in chalets. Reservation of a chalet gives access to all the services of the campsite: water park, fishing ponds.

The Comité Départemental d'Équitation de la Vendée is the French Equestrian Federation's regional body. It represents some 65 clubs and 58 equestrian organizations belonging to the FFE, as well as 6933 licensed riders in 2022. In 2023, several events will take place, including the resumption of the departmental circuits for Hunter, Eventing, Show Jumping and Dressage, with 4 stages spread across the department. Points obtained at these competitions will count double towards qualification for the French Championships at LAMOTTE BEUVRON. In addition, the Vendée has four sites awarded the "Terre de Jeux 2024" label in preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games.
