The International Triathlon of Saint-Jean-de-Monts is a very famous race which gathers 350 triathletes, on a spectacular course, (Australian style swimming course). Races for young people, women, men and relays. Distance: 1 500 m swimming in the sea, 40 km cycling, 10 km walking. Also on the same day the Discovery Triathlon. Individual event open to all. Distances: 300 m swimming, 15 km cycling, 5 km walking. This is the ^38th edition!

It is short, it is flat: It is perfect for beginners! Practicable on foot, at VTC or on mountain bike (its stony coating would not be pleasant for other practices), this Green Lane allows you to connect Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie to Givrand in only 4 kilometres. A short go back to jogging, or some shots at the end of the day, and here you will quickly take the rhythm of physical exercise on a daily basis! The route is signposted, including the dunes of the Jaunay.

The salt marshes on the island of Noirmoutier are of major interest for their flora and fauna, and this short Voie verte (Green Way) offers you the chance to explore them in complete safety. On foot or by bike, you'll make your way along the ponds on a dirt track perfectly integrated into the environment. In just 5 kilometers, you'll reach L'Herbaudière at the north-western tip of the island. Whether on your own, with friends or family, this itinerary is just as suitable for sports enthusiasts as it is for nature lovers looking for a Sunday stroll.

La Joséphine is a very beautiful initiative around a race and march 5 km, 100% women, organized for the League against Cancer. A great success for this solidarity event, which brings together more than 5 000 women with a nice pink bib, of all ages, which bear the colours of October pink to fight breast cancer. This challenge is accompanied by a weekend of animations around prevention.

The Bicentennial is a must-attend event for race and hike enthusiasts in early spring, and will be held on April 8 for its 15th edition. This sporting and popular event places team spirit, conviviality and inter-generational cooperation at the heart of its values. A course for the Aces race (8.6 km), as well as two courses for children of 1.5 km and 2.9 km.

7 km for the moderate runners or compulsive walkers, the double for the most trained, all between sous and edges of the Nantes Nantes; This is the forest programme, a friendly race that will take place on 14 July in the town of Saint-Laurent-sur-Lecourbe and surrounding area. No great difficulty, just set up exclusively on trails. So choose your test, put the trainers together - you will need it - and be among the many athletes expected that day!

Tariff: for the 7 km (walk or race): € 7 for licensees FFA, € 10 for others; for the 14 km: € 9 for licensees FFA, € 11 for others. 2 € increase on site.

Less than a month after the Forêt de la Forêt on July 12 th, the Jogging Club de Saint-Hilaire-de-Laugh comes back with the Forest St. Marathon, which will take place on Sunday, August 2nd, 2015. In Vendée this year, the summer is definitely under the spotlight! But do not let you impress by the 21 km of the main test: The event reserved for runners less trained a nice alternative of 7 km, on a shaded route along the forest. More excuses: to your trainers!

Tariff: for the semi marathon: € 11 for the LICENCIÉS, € 12 for the others and € 16 for the premises; for the 7 km: € 7 for licensees FFA, € 8 for others and € 11 for on-site.

Good news for walking enthusiasts: the Vendée is busy this summer! So much so that on 9 August, if you live Les Sables-d'Olonne or La Roche-sur-Yon, you will have to choose between the Beaches fautaises to La Fault-sur-Mer, and Strides riezaises in Saint-Hilaire-de-Laugh! Joggers on Sunday, perhaps you will feel more comfortable on one of the courses of this second event: on flat roads in the marsh, they reserve a distance of 7,8 or 11,7 km. Depending on your endurance, choose your test, put the trainers together, and take part in this convivial event!

And why not place the summer under the sign of sport? In Vendée this year, you will have only the embarrassment of choice! On August 14 th, it will be Vaire's turn to take on his sporting attire! The town will welcome the Sympathique, a 10 km walk on a hilly route. Alternating between roads and sandy roads, it gives you beautiful views over this little end of France, but you can also sweat blood and water. Grass runners will also find their happiness, thanks to the three children's tests scheduled during the event (1 km, 2 km and 6,8 km). To everyone his challenge!

As every year, for 22 years, the event will bring together passionate, amateur or confirmed athletes: more than 400 athletes are expected this time! In the programme: three races of 2,5 km, 5 km and 10 km, and a children's race for grass runners; also a pedestrian radonnée according to 2 circuits of 8 and 17 km. Rewards will be awarded to the best, but above all don't forget: the important thing is to participate!

Another race that brings people together on the island, other than the famous Foulées du Gois, is the Trail de Barbâtre. For the record, on the island of Noirmoutier, the commune of Barbâtre is linked to the mainland by the famous Passage du Gois. The program includes three main races between dunes, forests and beach, a 21 km trail with 150 m D+, a 14 km loop with 100 m D+ and a 2 loop of 7 km accessible to all. 2 kids' races of 1 and 2 km complete the day. Start and finish at Place du Marché. License or medical certificate required.

As in 2022, a new edition of the National Laser 4000 (sailing race) will take place on September 14 and 15 on Plage des Dames. Over 2 days of competition, there will be no fewer than 25 boats, totalling some 80 people, including attendants and staff. The Laser 4000 is a modern dinghy named after the shipyard that created it, the Laser shipyard. With a length of 4.60 m, its planing hull and generous sail area make this dinghy a high-performance and particularly accessible skiff.

This race against the rising tide is a challenge against a unique site: Le Gois and its cobblestones. Created in 1987, this unique event remains a benchmark, bringing together 2,000 national and international runners. The Race des As, a major event, brings together the elite of international marathon running. It is preceded by popular races open to all on the open road. An incomparable opportunity to defy the elements. Athletes must conquer the sea through waves, crosswinds and currents. Since 2022, a new ebb-tide race.
