BEACH

Natural site to discover

Along the vast circle of the presidential villa and turning left at the corner, we find ourselves on a «beach» overlooking the Boumediene, a small, gagné space. Here, there are canoes unloading the shells and their leaves, which are braided, to isolate a little of the sheet toits of the sun. These kinds of mats are made on the ground under the wall of the president. A few piroguiers regularly make a palm wine. MUSÉE KIEBE-KIEBE

Museums

Nestled in the N'gol Odoua forest, this museum is dedicated to the kiebe-kiebe initiation dance, endemic to the Congo. Over 150 exhibits reveal the evolution of this ancestral ceremony, still practiced in the Plateaux, Cuvette and Cuvette-Ouest regions. Along the way, you can see kiebe-kiebe statuettes, musical instruments and various objects linked to the sacred rite, as well as more modern works from the collection of the president, whose native village, Édou, is just a stone's throw away.
