LAS DELICIAS DE CARMEN
Read moreOne of the best places to taste the typical Chilean cuisine and eat with the locals. They offer very good empanadas with cheese, tomato and basil and pizzas, ajiaco con ensalada, cazuela vacuno, ceviche, charquicán, pastel de choclo, costillar de cerdo, lomo a lo pobre, chupe de locos... The portions are generous, the service is efficient and the atmosphere friendly. This is what you might call a charming "boui-boui", an authentic place where you can enjoy yourself without breaking the bank.
RESTAURANT ROSAMEL
Read moreA typical and family cuisine, perfect to discover and rediscover the Chilean dishes... and their more than generous portion! This small institution attracts regulars and tourists for lunch and dinner. You can enjoy a decent meal and menus at very low prices: soups, churascos, casuelas... The pisco and fruit juices are also tasty, and you can even ask for a tea with coca leaves in case of altitude sickness! Rooms are also available. The address often welcomes organized tours.
DIMANGO
Read moreOne of the best places to eat in Arica. For those with a sweet tooth, the house specialty is the homemade ice cream. They are among the best in the country. Italian cuisine is also in the spotlight, with all sorts of specialities: pizzas, pastas and carpaccios at a very good price-quality ratio. The restaurant also has another address in Calle Paul Rey 2592, which is just as pleasant and has just as much choice, a stone's throw from the beach.
CAFE ADOBE
Read morePizzas, spaghetti, soups, salads or enchiladas, this is the address that will make everyone happy. The atmosphere is pleasant in summer and winter, on the terrace or by the fire. A safe bet that will please everyone, where the cuisine is very international, lulled by good music and rock paintings hung in the patio. You can connect to the Internet in the back room. It's quite crowded in the evening, it's one of the best meeting points... between foreigners, it is understood. Also good in the evening for a drink!
TERCER OJITO
Read moreSalads, quinoa tabbouleh, vegetarian lasagne, onion pie, picante de locos, herbed salmon, ceviches, Thai dishes and natural juices and even sushi: all culinary influences meet in this restaurant that we particularly like. Our preference is for fish and shellfish, however, as we are close to the sea! A friendly atmosphere in a large green patio. The setting is nice and the menu should satisfy all tastes.
CHIFA NAN KING
Read moreChinese food under the Chilean sun? The presence of Chinese chifas reminds us that Peru (where this type of restaurant is commonplace) is not far away. The prices here are higher than the others, but the food is hearty and of high quality. The service is fast, the dishes tasty and the staff friendly. On the menu: spring rolls, chicken with all kinds of sauces, tallarines (Chinese noodles)... There are many restaurants of this type in Iquique, near the central market. The choice is yours!
MATA RANGI
Read moreThis friendly little restaurant is located on the waterfront. Its picturesque location on the waterfront offers a direct view of the harbour, the ocean, sea lions, sea lions and pelicans competing for the fishermen's catch. An authentic and picturesque address where excellent cuisine based on seafood is served. The dishes, without pretension, are fresh and tasty. We particularly like the seafood empanadas and the fish of the day grilled a la plancha. An address full of charm that never goes out of fashion.
RAYU
Read moreThis restaurant, located in front of the sea on the Chinchorro beach, proves definitely that the South American gastronomy is not in rest... The menu is composed of mainly Peruvian dishes. The menu is mainly composed of Peruvian dishes, mainly sea food, as well as excellent meats. We recommend the delicious seafood ravioli, a beautiful Italian-Peruvian fusion, and for dessert, the chocolate mousse spiced with Merquen, a small Chilean specialty: a delight! The bill may seem very high for the region, but it is worth it.
TIO JACINTO
Read moreServing Antofagasta's finest fish and seafood. Tasty, delicate dishes make up a mouth-watering menu: the ceviche is undoubtedly one of the best in the region, the fish always fresh and the crab(chupe de jaiba) surprising. An assortment of seafood is also available: a delight! The restaurant may not look like much, but Tio Jacinto already has the cachet of a long-established address. A refreshingly friendly address with attentive service.
DONA FILOMENA
Read moreAn ideal location and a rather pleasant setting for this restaurant located a stone's throw from the beach. It has been a real institution since 1848, when it was created as a canteen when Filomena was cooking for the soldiers of the marine army. The pizzas are generous but not exceptional. Try fish instead, fresh and tasty, like ceviche. Empañadas are not bad either. The service is sometimes random but it remains a classic of the city. In short, don't expect great quality cuisine but the dishes are correct.
LA PICADA DEL INDIO
Read moreA stone's throw from Caracacoles, in Tocopilla (one of the perpendicular streets), push open the double-leaf door of Picada del Indio and take a look at the menu. Typical Chilean dishes from the four corners of the country are prepared here in generous portions (and at very honest prices compared to the more sophisticated addresses on the main street). Grilled chicken, beef or fish served with vegetables, French fries or rice; mixed salads; pizza; chorillana... There's something for every taste and appetite. A local address just the way we like it.
PULPERIA ATACAMA
Read moreVictor is responsible for this little gem of a restau-bar. A great jazz aficionado and ardent defender of local culture, Victor decided to create Pulperia in 2023 with the aim of creating a space for exchange. Over a plate of pasta (homemade) and a good wine or pisco sour (recipes are plentiful here!), almost every evening there's a small concert organized around the piano and amplifiers. The atmosphere is pleasantly cosmopolitan. Local produce store. A place with a difference.
CAFÉ DEL MAR
Read moreHere's an address that's well worth a visit in Arica! Born almost 20 years ago (August 2004) from the meeting of two businesses (one gastro, the other touristic), Café del Mar is a space dedicated to travel and literature, but also a web-friendly place and a restaurant! The warm welcome and friendly environment make you want to take a look at the daily menu. Some suggestions? Baked beef with abuela lentils and parmesan; roast chicken with ottogi sauce and fuyon rice; Carne mechada with a mix of potatoes, sweet potatoes and baked pumpkin!
CASONA DEL REY
Read moreIt's quite simple: at La Casona del Rey, you can eat a bit of everything! You step inside a large, thatched, earth-red building, before taking a closer look at the menu: grilled beef with mashed potatoes, braised fish fillet with baby vegetables, nachos and guacamole, roast chicken with fried potatoes, garlic shrimp stir-fry, as well as snacks such as pizzas, burgers, empanadas and sandwiches. In short, it's a popular Putre address that works all the time and for just about everyone!
TIERRA TODO NATURAL
Read morePerhaps one of the best addresses for healthy eating in Caracoles. The huge serving room unfurls under a skilfully arranged thatched roof, and all the elements of the decor, natural and colorful, contribute to creating a sense of well-being. On the menu, in addition to a fine collection of juices and smoothies, there's a choice of salads, pastas, tacos, sandwiches, soups and ceviches, as well as meat and fish dishes. Todo Natural's strength also lies in its excellent vegetarian dishes and pleasant service!
DIVINUS
Read moreA daring decoration in an old house from the last century, a little kitsch: the bright red velvet curtains marry large three-metre high stained glass windows. Four different atmospheres united by a more minimalist central living room, crowned by a superb steel candelabra. The cuisine has Peruvian and Thai influences and is well presented and tasty. The menu includes parillas, cordero, cerdo and pasta. You can also just have an aperitif. One of the best addresses in town, our favorite in any case.
PUERTO VIEJO
Read moreGood picada where you can enjoy a good fish or delicious seafood.
RESTAURANT ZLATAR
Read moreA room that resembles the festive hall of some municipalities, with tables aligned as in the, of school canteens, but with television. At noon, a menu is offered at a decent price. The dishes are very good and rich (lenguado or sole).
