A stone's throw from Caracacoles, in Tocopilla (one of the perpendicular streets), push open the double-leaf door of Picada del Indio and take a look at the menu. Typical Chilean dishes from the four corners of the country are prepared here in generous portions (and at very honest prices compared to the more sophisticated addresses on the main street).
