Things to see and do Central Valley

This trek is worth any walk in the lakes area, you will hardly meet anyone and the landscapes crossed are breathtaking. We cross plateaus covered with strange formations, the result of volcanic activity in the past centuries. These lunar landscapes attract ufology enthusiasts: a large number of UFO sightings have been recorded in recent decades. Over a length of 10 km, it is possible to go up and down to the basaltic plateau in less than 8 hours, but it is better to camp.

A great option for hiking, it's about 4km long but you can spend all day here (it's uphill!); there are many viewpoints with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains, and the lagoon, nestled at the bottom of a volcanic crater at 2,000m, is beautiful - you can even camp nearby. There is another way to get there, but only for the more athletic: take the path that leads to the El Enladrillado area. The area is known to be shaped like an alien landing strip.

The result of the hard work of Norwegian Alexander Vik, this wine tourism complex is one of the jewels of the region, if not the country! This vineyard covers more than 4,000 hectares and includes a wine cellar, a spa, a hotel and a restaurant. A true masterpiece, both in its architecture and concept, the vineyard dazzles with a 360° panorama. In the midst of a romantic nature, everything is wonderfully well thought out to offer intimacy and escape to a public that, it must be said, must be willing to pay for such an experience.

On the beach La Puntilla takes place every year in the Relámpago Nacional e Internacional de Surf. There are many (Chile and foreigners), the town is packed and the atmosphere heated.

The structure in Adobe and tiles, which houses the museum since 1970, is representative of regional urban colonial architecture. Permanent collections make it possible to learn more about history (including the famous Battle of Rancagua), mines, agriculture and crafts in the region.

Angle of Estado and Cuevas. It was founded by the order of Notre-Dame de la Merced under the San Cruz Nonato convent of San Cruz de Triana. The building, which then housed a hospice, was restored three times between 1877 and 1889. You will notice the decoration of the nave in a Renaissance style by the architect Don Ignacio Cremonesi. In 1814, the church was defended by General O'Higgins against the royalist assailants. Classified as a national monument in 1954, it is now in good condition and can be visited every day.

The date of construction is unknown, probably around 1780. The building, a fine example of colonial architecture, was reworked several times between 1873 and 1945. In 1945, he became the property of the Époux Flores-Moreno, who established a historical Museum with objects that belonged to generals O'Higgins, San Martín, Manuel Rodriguez and Las Heras. Today, the building, restored in 1995 and then in 2011 after the earthquake of 2010 which destroyed it almost entirely, serves as the showroom for the Regional museum.

This beach is located in the extreme south of the city. It is characterized by the rock formations on which the waves of the Pacific break. The crowd is a bit greedy and fashion in season, that's where the beautiful surfers come to try to seduce the beautiful girls of the capital.

Located opposite the Ross Park and surrounded by small bars, it has a parking and showers. To the south of the beach is a superb left that will delight surfers. Around the beach, descended from the park, large staircases and railings reminiscent of the splendour of the Ross years.

Located on the edge of Avenida Costanera, Las Terrazas area. It was a natural cave carved in the rock with a diameter of approximately 2 m. In 1908, there were remnants of préhispaniques civilizations (arrow points, hooks, etc.). Since 1950, it is a place of worship where the Virgin of Lourdes is celebrated.

The award-winning Relais & Châteaux Clos Apalta is owned by Frenchmen Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle and Cyril de Bournet. Worthy heirs to a grape variety native to France, they have been involved in winemaking for generations and have turned this place into a temple of design and refinement! You'll be amazed at the quality of the wines and the taste buds, through a guided tour of more than an hour and a half to meet red wines such as Carmenère, Merlot and Cabernet with very Bordeaux aromas.

This vineyard is distinguished by its very particular philosophy: here, the wine is pampered through a process of elaboration known as feng shui that can be seen even before entering the building. The emblematic wine of the house is Montes Alpha M, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. In the middle of the vineyards, at the Fuegos de Apalta restaurant, the famous Argentine chef Francis Mallmann will serve you the best meats of the region.
