It is an amazing market where you can also buy plants, chairs, power tillers and farmyard animals. On Thursday mornings, there is a small market of local producers.

Mazères still has a 13th century church with choir paintings and a beautiful market hall dating from 1846. Three kilometres to the south-east of Mazères was the abbey of Boulbonne, founded in 1129 and so famous in the Cathar era that it was considered the Saint-Denis of the Counts of Foix, in reference to the glorious basilica of Saint-Denis. Boulbonne was an intense centre of cultural, religious, political and economic life.
