Labelled "National Opera" in 2006, it was restored in 1994 to recreate it as it was on the day of its inauguration in 1919, namely an Italian-style theater with boxes, balcony and galleries, a pastiche of an 18th century opera, created by the Alsatian Joseph Hanecker.

Designed and adapted for children from 2 to 8 years old, the puppet shows created by Nancy's Jean-Pierre Idatte are performed by the 3 Chardons company. For each show, the actors involve children and parents in an intimate and warm room adapted to families, with the first two rows reserved for children.
