During the Vietnam War, the airport, built by the Americans, was one of the busiest in the region. Today it is the ^{third largest} international airport in the country. Please note: make sure to book tickets one day in advance and at least three days or much longer for berths. Specify soft sleep (more expensive, but much more comfortable) or hard sleep (without mattress and with reduced space in the compartment). Tickets should preferably be obtained directly from the station ticket office. An old scam consists for the intermediary agencies in selling hard sleep places for soft sleep places...

Several train lines join this station and serve the city of Phan Thiêt. From Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville, daily trains with a departure at 6:40 am. At Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville station, you have to go to the building on the left within the station grounds to take this train. Arrival is less than 4 hours later, at 10:24 am. In the opposite direction, the daily departures from Phan Thiêt take place at 1:10 pm for an arrival at 5:14 pm at HCMV. This line allows you to take the time to travel and enjoy beautiful typical landscapes.
