The chicken comes from the north of Greece, served roasted or in an authentic baguette, the pastries are made early in the morning, the dishes are well prepared and the baklava (with a little Armenian twist) is one of the best on the island!

Installed on the port since 1910, this tavern seems to have a little something extra in common with its neighbours. Recently renovated, it offers from the large shaded terrace a full view of the old port and the beach. Rewarded for its traditional cuisine by the Greek Academy of Taste, you can order with your eyes closed. The service is very friendly. Sofia is a Cretan tavern of very high quality. Tourists based in the village use it as a canteen, as the prices are reasonable and the quality is high. The tavern also offers hearty breakfasts, with hot toast and coffee in the morning. Fruit juices are exclusively fresh! Excellent service and a pleasant location, just above the small beach with a staircase leading up to the tavern. Take the opportunity to ask about the botanical walks offered by the owner's sister-in-law.

Daily fresh fish on display in the window: sea bream, sea bass and lobster are all delicious. Special mention: the mezze platter for 2 people to fall on the floor! Taste, among others, the kleftiko (lamb melting in the oven), grilled cuttlefish, grilled swordfish, tomatoes and peppers stuffed with rice... Very good value for money and a warm welcome.
