LE LAC DE CHARPAL

In a Natura 2000 zone, the Charpal Lake site is irresistibly reminiscent of Canada. Its very particular history (the lake was supposed to shelter ammunition between the two world wars and a railway line was built there), its forest, planted in the 1950s, have made it a unique place sheltering a rather exceptional fauna and flora. This association, which produced a topo-guide to short hikes, offers guided hikes and themed outings (botany, birds, farm produce, etc.) around Grandrieu and in the Margeride region: twenty-five signposted loop trails starting from Grandrieu, ranging from 4 km to 27.2 km, a 75 km cantonal tour that can be completed in three days...
