Markets Hérault

Open-air markets take place all year round in the communes of the Hérault, notably in Mireval. Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, local producers and merchants from all walks of life come to present their goods. Food, flowers, textiles: the stalls are varied. It is a pleasure to browse among these passionate people, to learn about the typical varieties of the region, to ask for advice for a recipe or a seasoning. It is also a great way to discover the local life.

Occitania is one of the most gourmet regions in France. It owes it to the talented producers and breeders who cultivate its land. They invite you to visit the local markets. The one in Vias takes place every Monday morning on the seafront. In total, about twenty exhibitors offer their products in short circuits. Market gardeners, cheese makers, pork butchers, bakers, oyster farmers: the market has a superb range of products. You can even find tielles agathoises.

To shop in the heart of the city, directly from the farmers, the local farmers' market is the right place to be. You can take your basket, stroll around the market hall, chat with the stallholders and enjoy the colors. Dedicated to organic products and short circuits, this farmers' market brings together producers of local flavors. We fill up with fresh products and we spend a good moment to choose the most beautiful.

Going to the market is a little program in itself. To shop for fresh produce on weekends, you can count on the Friday market held in the station area. Under the trees of the avenue Victor Hugo which bring their shade in the summer season, one comes to select its fresh fruits and vegetables. You can also take advantage of the market to do some shopping because several stallholders offer textile articles. You can then leave with your basket full of fresh products and new clothes to brighten up your wardrobe.

Every Sunday morning, the people of Montbazin meet on the Public Garden square to shop for fresh and local products. On the well-stocked stalls of this farmers' market, one can find quality products, handicrafts, and organic products. You will find everything you need to fill up on fruits, vegetables and gourmet products. Note that every second Sunday of the month, animations and tastings are proposed on this market. The town has several weekly appointments not to be missed, the food market: Thursday morning, theGreat market: Sunday morning on the esplanade Roger Damour. A not-to-be-missed event, it attracts many regulars as well as summer tourists for food products, decoration, clothes and accessories, the Flower Market: every Sunday morning and finally the Flea Market: on Saturday mornings, the Roger Damour esplanade is covered with a variety of stalls and is filled with passionate bargain hunters. It's the place to be for bargains!

The market at the place David-d'Angers is one of the most picturesque and colourful shows in the region since the th century, on Friday. For lovers of natural products and local specialities, this is absolute opulence. Traditional bread, Charcuterie charcuterie, Lozere mushrooms, country olives, marrons marrons and central cheeses… Delicious smells, Vivid colours and the merchants'screams. The nose, eyes and ears are taken full. It is the obligatory passage for lovers of Mediterranean atmospheres. Eat without moderation. Since spring 2008, during work near the new media library, the Champ-de-Mars market - also Fridays - is moved to 8-May - near Avenue Jean-Moulin.

Since 1994, this is the rendezvous of pure tomato advocates and conservative of gmos, or simply lovers of taste. Merchants and producers make a point of unpack products of flawless quality: farm cheese, fruits and vegetables, cold meats, cooked poultry or already roasted, shells, honey, olive oil, lots of breads, juices and jams, spices and mushrooms, the basket is full of culinary pleasures.

On Thursdays, it is on the side of the Corniche that we meet to fill our basket with fresh products. Throughout the year, about twenty local producers and artisans set up shop on the Place Édouard Herriot to offer their beautiful products in the colors of the land. The stalls feature organic farming, including seasonal fruits and vegetables, but also poultry, eggs ... A market to consume local, shop outside the historic center, and why not continue with a walk to the beach.

In summer, these two communes open up to a multitude of local producers and exhibitors. In Portiragnes, they settle on the avenue Jean Moulin and compose a traditional market on Sunday morning. In Portiragnes-Plage: the traditional market on Monday morning, the one on the Boulevard de la Tour du Guet on Tuesday morning, the one on the Avenue des Mûriers and the Front de mer on Wednesday and Friday morning, the night market on Tuesday from 8pm, and finally, the one on the Place du Bicentenaire on Sunday.
