Marlies, who gave his name to the shop, is Dutch and grew up in the middle of flowers, not just tulips, in a country that now exports its greenhouse flowers to the whole of Europe. A training designer and artist of floral composition, she proposes, in her charming store, a stone's throw from the square house, a mix of modern, creative bouquets. The freshness of the flowers that impeccable their perfume from the entrance is guaranteed by the absence of a cold room. It is difficult to choose from so many beauty and originality. The compositions of white flowers are particularly successful, plants are uncommon, and if ideas fail before crossing the threshold, they are abundant and multiply in front of these flower beds.

A little bouquet to offer for a last minute appointment, or just a few flowers on Sunday to embellish a slightly gloomy weekend? The Flower Garden is there for you, every day and every hour, or almost. Over the entire length of its stall, 4,50 varieties of flowers compete with colours, shapes and prices from 5 € to €. Inside, you will be gathered together, the adding of some ferns or other foliage and a beautiful coloured and enrubanné paper. And all this in record time and with a smile! Most: weekly promotions and deliveries and shipments throughout the region. The least: the flowers, if they keep almost a week in a vase, have finished growing in the fridge and in the semi-trailers (they often come from Holland…), which does not is their appearance but removes any perfume.

The place may be the novice because it offers a beautiful collection of rare plants (orchids, cactées…) and talks about things that ordinary people still ignore. But it would be a great shame if we were to deprive ourselves of the enlightened advice of this atypical store for off-ground and out-of-ground culture. Indeed, it is a greenhouse, almost incongruous in a city centre that proposes the sale of robust young plants as well as many products for interior gardening (specific fertilizers, orchid substrates, coconut fibre baskets…). Experts remove the natural sap from plants to replace it with a mixture of glycerin. The result is bluffing. The plants are stabilized and grow in life expectancy (between 5 and 15 years by species). No need to water them, or to care for them. You have only to contemplate them! These plants only from inside are deflected and become objects of the garden: vegetable paintings and walls, floral compositions, magnets végétals… Joëlle is an expert in composition!
