If you stay a few days in Sharm el-Sheikh to explore the surroundings, it is always possible to rent a car. An international driving licence is accepted in Egypt, but be careful, you must be at least 25 years old. At night, don't drive too fast as many cars driven by Egyptians don't have their lights on ... Also, don't venture beyond the roads and be aware that 4X4 vehicles require a special permit from the Egyptian authorities. In any case, take out the maximum insurance that is offered to you.
