The hotel was very close to the city centre. They buy typical Belize cakes such as the cinnamon roller and coconut bread and you can also order salty pleasures such as ham/cheese.

Ideally located next to the ferry departure point, Ice & Beans is the perfect place for a good breakfast before setting sail on your next adventure. Vanilla, almond and many other flavors are the house specialties. You can also drinksmoothies and milk shakes, and devour donuts. All this in a beachy atmosphere, with a few wooden benches inviting you to stay and enjoy Caye Caulker at its preferred speed, the slow pace. The service is friendly and the place rich in encounters.

DANDE'S FROZEN CUSTARD AND SORBET

Glacier

Dan and Eileen, an American couple with a passion for ice cream, opened this landmark establishment in 2005, after searching the length and breadth of the island for an ice cream worthy of the name. They imported the basic "frozen custard" from the USA and mixed in all the local products they could find, depending on the season. The most popular are coconut ice cream and "Soursop" made with tropical fruit. The atmosphere is also very friendly.

BELIZE CHOCOLATE COMPANY

Chocolatier

It's unthinkable to be in San Pedro and not stop at the Belize Chocolate company. The first of its kind in the country, this chocolate shop not only offers a menu of hot and cold beverages and pastries with unforgettable flavours, but also boxes and bars of chocolate and related products to take home if you manage not to eat them before your return! The chocolate is, of course, homemade every day from organic cocoa grown on small farms in the south of the country. We couldn't recommend anything more delicious!

THE CREAMERY

Glacier

Located at the split, on the north side of the island, next to Lazy Lizard, this is a pleasant little ice cream store, one of the only ones on the island. We come here to refresh ourselves with great Italian-style ice creams. You'll discover many original flavors, such as licorice/mint and the very local soursop. All the ice creams are homemade, and you can't go wrong with their creaminess. Choice of cups and cones. A lovely terrace overlooking the sea, where you can enjoy these marvels while taking in the marvellous view of nature.

CAKE LADY

Patisserie

The "Cake Lady", as she's known on the island, takes her cart full of sweet treats to Front Street every afternoon. These include her famous chocolate coconut tart, lemon tart and moist chocolate cake. Thecinnamon rolls are a sweet delight. If you can't spot her, ask the shopkeepers on Front Street, many of whom know her. Her cart isn't luxurious, of course, but her creations are top-notch. A real nugget!
