This association sets up several actions: artists' residences, cultural interventions and the festival also called "time strong of circus arts" organized at the arrival of Spring. Here the circus is reinvented under a contemporary light, via shows combining acrobatics, magic or visual arts. A festival that makes a name for itself by going off the beaten track while remaining very accessible to the public in both form and content!

The French skating team is on tour throughout France from March 28 to April 18, 2020. She will be in Rennes at the end of March. This is an opportunity to see a real show in the presence of the best French skaters - Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres, Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac, Maé-Bérénice Méité, Kevin Aymoz, Laurine Lecavelier. They will perform a series of choreographies and acrobatics to music, with commentary by Brian Joubert. A beautiful show that closes the skating season, with a tour of France in 18 cities.

To travel without leaving the capital of Brittany, visit the Foire internationale de Rennes. This event welcomes over 100,000 visitors every winter for ten days of festivities and exhibitions, with a star destination each year. From England to the Caribbean, via the USA and Japan, plunge into the heart of a country's culture through several universes: gastronomy, furnishings, housing, tourism, well-being... 400 exhibitors are gathered on 255,000 m² spread over 11 halls. Enough to awaken all your senses. Next stop: Portugal!

Christmas takes on many colors and the Christmas market is to be put in the plural! With the Mail market, you are immersed in the festivities with the Ferris wheel which overhangs the city and illuminates it at night. A place that deserves a little look and especially a visit with the family. The exhibitors, sheltered in their wooden chalets, are generally very friendly and chat easily with every good soul who passes by. Handicrafts figure prominently: from perfumes to wooden decorative objects, from jewelry to hats and shawls for the ladies... This market also attracts a lot of gourmets for the French local products: sausages, cold cuts, cheeses, tartiflettes... It is the occasion to drink a mulled wine while strolling between the exhibitors' chalets. Christmas villages are also set up on the Dovecote slab and on the Place du Parlement during the festivities.

Once again this year, the Rennes Green Marathon takes place on a course that is 100% urban, 100% Rennes, just like all six events that make up this annual two-day event. The marathon, of course, but also a 5 km women's race, a relay marathon, a duo marathon, a 10 km race and a 5 km family walk at night. There's something for everyone, and challenge-seekers won't be outdone: on the marathon section of the old course, 10% of runners finished in under 3 hours! Previously taking in the city's northern districts, this 100% urban approach is the result of the ecological aspirations that have been at the heart of this sporting event since its creation in 2011. In ten years, over a million trees have been planted in partnership with the Yves Rocher Foundation.

This recurring event, created in 2016, is a firm favorite with the people of Rennes. Sundays are often dull, sometimes lacking in animation, and the weekend definitely seems too short... The Marché à manger is just the thing to prolong the festive atmosphere of the weekend! In the halles de la criée, with each new monthly edition, you'll have the chance to pick and choose from the stalls and food-trucks present. The aim is to eat well without breaking the bank, so the different brands taking part in the event, which change each time, offer exclusive specialities and portions designed for the particular logistical conditions of the venue. So you can sit down at the large communal tables, enjoy a beer and even dance to the sound of the music. An event for young and old, at the crossroads between kermesse and brunch, in the grounds of a historic monument, that has the gift of reconciling everyone! And for a zero-waste MaM, don't hesitate to bring your own containers!

Having been held at the Liberté for several years now, the tournament is attracting an ever-growing audience for what is one of the biggest men's indoor tennis tournaments in France, and the first in Brittany, won by such renowned players as Tsonga in 2006 and Benneteau in 2011. It's an opportunity to see some great matches, with over forty players competing, including some of the world's Top 100, and always at an attractive price for matches at this level. For those who can't make it, the event is broadcast every year on TVR 35!

What better way to kick off September than with talent from the Rennes music scene? This festival, created in 2012, kicks off the autumn in style with a jam-packed ten days of concerts. The program features local artists in a wide variety of venues, from the city center to the neighborhoods (ephemeral stages, parks, rooftops, bars...) Indoors and outdoors, day and night, you're invited to explore the city and meet this bubbling emerging scene, before finishing in style with an evening of concerts in the mythical Salle de la Cité.

For three weeks every December, Place Hoche plays host to this not-to-be-missed event dedicated to local craftsmanship, organized by the Renn'arts collective. Come stroll and do your Christmas shopping under a vast marquee to meet local talent. From natural cosmetics to textile creations, leather goods, painting, ceramics and shoemaking, a wide range of crafts will be on show, demonstrating the skill and creativity of some forty local artisans. A temple of surprises dedicated to local, handcrafted gifts to wow your loved ones this holiday season!

Every year in July and August, the Parliament of Brittany changes its classic style for an illuminated display. The facade is transformed into a giant screen, much to our delight! At nightfall, the square is decked out in its finest attire to offer a magnificent sound & light show, an ode to enchantment and reverie for young and old alike. You can settle down here and there in the four corners of the square to enjoy this magical moment. From a trip to the four corners of the world to the sixties, the Spectaculaires company redoubles its talents to make the stones of Rennes' capital speak in many different ways. When's the next edition?

Every summer, as the city calms down, the streets empty out and the seagulls make themselves heard, the beach spirit settles in on deckchairs in Place de la Mairie, in parks and in the neighborhoods of Rennes. It's a great place to be, and moments of idleness can be enjoyed in many different ways. This lovely initiative gives Rennais a summery face and an indolent holiday look. Free concerts, night tours of the Breton capital, Fest-deiz, food market, Sunday shows at Le Thabor for the very young, bal populaire, fireworks and many other surprises... The vacations come to us, even in town!

A dive into the dance! That's the promise made every year by the organizers of the Waterproof festival, which has been held throughout the Rennes region since 2020. In 8 towns, from the Breton capital to the surrounding communes, choreographic shows, performances, workshops... await you. To warm up the month of February, a number of events invite you to take a step or two, such as the Marathon de la danse: four hours of dance and uninhibited challenges at l'Ubu. The creations of local and international artists are combined in a variety of venues. Contemporary dance, urban dance, theater, circus, digital arts... all merrily intermingle.

La Grange-Théâtre is a small theater located in Thourie, about 35 km from Rennes. Dedicated to the performing arts, it offers a varied program including theater, concerts, children's shows, puppets, conferences, exhibitions and many other events. It also serves as an artists' residency, rehearsal space and training facility for amateurs and professionals alike. The Grange-Théâtre is managed by AMAC (Association pour le Maintien de l'Art à la Campagne) and also offers accommodation.
