Brest summers have been festive at the port for twenty years now. This event organised by the municipality is free and open to all. The programme, created by Jacques Guérin and his Quai Ouest Musiques Company, satisfy all tastes. The Thursday port idea was initiated in 1989 with the aim of uniting the Brest people each Thursday evening during summer. The roadstead of Brest is the ideal place to learn to sail in Brittany. Youenn Creach is an experienced sailor who welcomes you aboard his magnificent boat for a week or a half-day of sailing. It is a sailing school approved by the French Sailing Federation. Whatever your level, you will progress during immersive courses. This association also offers sport and health sessions, team building, thematic courses (navigation on a map) and support for the organization of nautical events.

Every summer since 1923, the Cornouaille festival, one of the oldest events in Brittany, has been animating and colouring Quimper with Breton music and traditions. From the square in front of the cathedral to the foot of Mont Frugy, through the streets of old Quimper and the Quai de l'Odet, the city is in celebration for 6 days, draining the crowds. On the programme: election of the Queen of Cornwall, a big parade of Celtic circles and bagadoùs, fest-noz, aperitif-concerts on Place Saint-Corentin, children's entertainment, concerts at the Novomax and in the Pavilion of the Expo Park.

The roscovite city celebrates its famous pink onions during a weekend in August. This vegetable with its particular flavour which can be eaten raw, cooked in pies, soups, omelette, candied... is on the festive program. From organic and conventional farming, farmers sell in braid or in bulk. Among the many tastings: music, entertainment and dancing are offered.

The Kann Al Loar festival is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to discover the vitality of Breton culture in Landerneau. Since 1987, artists from all horizons have been performing to bring Brittany to life through music, song, theater and dance. Far from clichés, the festival promotes both traditional and modern forms of artistic expression. Kann Al Loar, with its street arts, shows and varied musical program, offers a formidable cultural mix for a weekend rich in discoveries.

Every year, Brest hosts a bagadoù contest organised by the Assemblée des sonneurs Bodadeg Ar Sonerion. The first round takes place at Quartz, and the following rounds in the other Breton departments. Each bagad offers a continuous flow of Breton music of a region or a determined territory for ten minutes. At least half of these performances must be made up of music to dance. In 2015, the event will celebrate its 66th edition.

If you're a oyster enthusiast (finally depending on the season of course), here is a hike that will take you to the mouth… From the port of Belon, this 9-kilometer trail leads you to Pointe de Penquerneo through the famous oyster parks of the Belon River. And don't stop immediately for tasting: You still have to discover the ruins of the fort! Easy and marked, this iodine hike is accessible to the whole family.

A journey from the Maison des Minerals, which reveals the countless natural areas of Crozon. Enjoy a walk out of time between land and sea, between fauna and flora. Well known for the Concarnois, Porzou wood is an ideal spot for walks and joggings at the end of the day. And to take advantage of this seaside area with family or friends, Concarneau has installed three permanent orientation routes. Using a map you downloaded or retrieved from the Concarneau Tourist Office, you will need to find the ten tags of each route, according to the information you have. An original way to impregnate the environment while testing its orientation capabilities.

Organized by the Penn Ar Jazz association, this music festival brings together the public around openness and cross-fertilization: traditional music, hip-hop, improvisation, etc. Theo Ceccaldi "Freaks", Thomas de Pourquery and Supersonic, BCUC, Annie Ebrel and Riccardo del Fra, Eric Chenaux, Palm Unit, etc.: many artists perform from 28 September to 14 October: at Mac Orlan, Quartz, Espace Vauban, Conservatoire, Centre d'art Passerelle, Carène or even at the Maison du théâtre, popular venues in Brest.

Why don't we go to an island this weekend? No need to go to the end of the world to find fine sandy beaches and raging waves.... Fifteen minutes from Roscoff, the island of Batz offers its ten kilometres of coastline to Sunday walkers. The island is certainly not deserted, but it offers beautiful wild landscapes and breathtaking views of the thousands of islands that surround it, especially from the top of its lighthouse. You will even find a botanical garden, the Georges-Delaselle garden, which houses plants from all over the world.
