Guided tours Côtes-D'Armor

This is an original way to discover Pontrieux, from the river. Lasting 25 minutes, this guided and piloted walk, aboard a boat equipped with an ultra-quiet electric motor, will take you from downtown to the port. You will admire about fifty recently restored wash houses along the river. Each bourgeois house had one of them. You will learn more about the history of the city, from where the linen cloth produced in the area was once exported.

Famous for its sea-carved pink granite blocks, the village of Ploumanac'h is ready for hiking. A 9 km tour from the Clarity chapel runs along the port of Ploumanac'h before conquering to the beach of Saint-Guirec. Here you can take a stopover to admire the oratory and chapel of the same name as well as the castle of Costaérés. The circuit then borrows the Customs (or GR 34) Trail along the Atlantic coast. It will lead you to the purpose of this journey: the famous rocks of Ploumanac'h. These rosé blocks with improbable shapes unfold over hundreds of metres, let you talk your imagination to find the turtle, the renversée bottle, or the flag with the death head! Finally, the trail leaves the sea again to reach the starting point.

At the departure of the Tourist Office, this 8.3 km loop invites you to discover the Country of Guingamp. The trail begins by presenting the city's heritage and history by bringing you to the Ursulines cloister and chapel before joining the major Guingamp buildings: the castle of Pierre II and the abbey of Sainte Croix. The path goes away to reach the Trieux River Trail for a natural moment. You will then take the height to admire the city as a whole, before returning to the center. If the length of the path scans you, the circuit can be shortened into a 5.4 km loop (Circuit of the Plumber). The Abbey for the Basilica of Notre-Dame and the Center Square will then be required.

Departing from Paimpol station, this old-fashioned looking train, pulled by a period steam locomotive, takes a bucolic railway track along the superb Trieux estuary. Along the way, you will discover elegant manor houses, pretty bridges and the beautiful forest of Penhoat-Lancerf. The stop at the Maison de l'Estuaire is enlivened by a show (magic, theatre, music, tales...). The train stops in Pontrieux, where a guided tour is offered. If you take the one-way ticket, you can return by boat, on board the Passeur du Trieux.

Located at Port de Dinan - Lanvallay, Maison de la Rance offers a discovery of the Vallée de la Rance on a new day. From 2010, the museum got a facelift. Interactive models, sound effects, smell boxes, simulation of tides: a permanent exhibition to be discovered while enjoying the natural and cultural heritage of a “maritime river”. A multitude of nature outings with different themes are proposed. Manufacture of wooden games using materials harvested from nature, discovery of life at low tide, seaweed, stroll in the Bay of Fresnaye, introduction to geology, trip to the heart of an underwater volcano, discovery of an active coastal quarry... The union also offers sea kayaking trips (along Cap d'Erquy, in front of Fort La Late or near Islet du Verdelet) and the intervention of specialists in sea rescue or on Cape Frehel during the Second World War. To promote its bicycle rental network, Rou 'libre, the City of Saint-Brieuc has set up a city discovery circuit. Accessible by bike or foot, this 7-kilometer orange circuit begins on the Champ-de-Mars square. You will follow the road to the Notre-Dame-d 'Espérance basilica before plunging into the heart of the historic center of the city. Drop the pedals the time to observe the wooden houses, classified at Historic Monuments. The cathedral of Saint-Étienne and the City Hall will then come, before leaving the bourgeois villas of Lamartine Boulevard. The circuit takes a detour to Aubé and Rohannec 'h villa, before returning to the starting point through the Parkway Park and its outdoor sculptures.

When nature and technology combine, ideas multiply and public attention is captured! This is the tip of the Saint-Brieuc Bay application, which offers you to visualize the ideas from your phone. On the menu: five ideas for urban walks from 1:00 a. m. to 2:30 a. m., seven walks to push a little further, and five bike walks. The route map is detailed on a plan and points of interest. And even more smart: The application suggests three hiking routes for strollers and persons with reduced mobility.

The Sloop d 'Erquy is an association law 1901 which brings together fans around Saint Jeanne, the replica of a sailboat dating back to 1912 (no worries, this boat will not know the same fate as its illustrious cousin, the Titanic, inaugurated the same year: There is no iceberg in the Channel!). The association offers you sea walks at 2 a. m. in the morning or 3 hours in the afternoon of Erquy, and will even take you to the maneuvers if you wish. The boat can accommodate up to 18 people of all ages, regardless of their physical condition.

La Pauline is a ship built in 1901, and resembles the first lobster vessels from Loguivy, rigged in bocq or sloop. Dahouët and Saint-Jacut are probably the only ports in the bay of Saint-Brieuc where you can still find flambarts, in the first half of the 20th century. After the First World War, the port's activities slowed down and these boats gradually disappeared. It is on board a replica that it is possible to go for a walk at sea, to play hide and seek between the islets of Bréhat or to push as far as the Channel Islands. Given the importance of the tides in Dahouët, the boat takes you on trips of 3 hours, 12 hours or... a few days. Time to take the helm, learn the manoeuvres and the rudiments of navigation.
