CERAMICA GRANADOS

Arts and crafts

Isidro and his son, Isidro junior, are the eighth generation of potters to continue this traditional workshop. His daughter, María, is also here, but she is responsible for painting and decorating the pieces. In this large space, you'll see a vast collection of pottery (jars, pots, candlesticks, dishes...), both ancient and modern, in all styles, including the great Lucena "classics" such as the Perula, a vessel of Roman origin used to transport wine, the Orza, for preserving oil and cured meats, the Botija de arriero, used to carry water to the fields, the Cántaro, from the well to the house, or the Dornillo, a vessel used to prepare gazpacho. You'll also discover more unexpected items, such as the paridera, an object designed to facilitate childbirth for women. You can visit all the facilities used to make them: lathes, kilns, paint shop... and watch the craftsmen practicing this meticulous activity.

ZOCO

Arts and crafts

Located not far from La Mezquita, between Calle Judío and Calle Averroes, it is housed in a house with Mudéjar reminiscences. And since 1960, this zoco, a kind of small bazaar, has gathered around a beautiful patio a number of craft workshops and shops. It is an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the techniques of working with silverware, a great Cordoba speciality, and also with ceramics and repoussé leather, which have also contributed to its notoriety. The range of objects on offer is very wide: jewellery, leather goods, crockery.
