It is on a vast area east of La Charité-sur-Loire, between Guérigny, Parigny-les-Vaux, Raveau and Saint-Aubin-les-Forges, Murlin and Prémery that this forest is located. This beautiful forest of oaks and beeches covers nearly 10,000 hectares. It became state-owned during the French Revolution. Its straight paths and numerous trails are ideal for hiking, whether on horseback, on foot or by bicycle. The cervids which populate the place attract many curious people, especially in the period of slab. There are two major sites in this forest: the Rond-point de la Réserve, a forest crossroads where hiking trails cross, and the Grand Mare. Also to be discovered, the fountains in Bertranges: numerous springs emerge in the forest, the most famous of which are the fountain of the Cow, the fountain of the Bougers, those of Saint-Vincent, of the Douée or of Vaux. A real nature escape!
