EGUILLY CASTLE

You can admire a magnificent collection of sculptures and paintings of art in the lounge and rooms. In this large building located along the highway, you can enjoy real history lessons, especially if you have the opportunity to walk around with its owner. You will know almost everything about the great and small history of this 12th century castle with a tumultuous past and whose style continuously varied until the 17th and 18th centuries. You will notice both its magnificence and its decadence when visiting. The walls are still standing and impressive, but the interiors could not stand the attacks of time and still less, the covetousness of men. Only two andirons remained when the former owner, M. Aubry, bought the castle - thus saving some ruins - in 1983. Since then, research and restoration have made it part of its glorious past.

This is an extraordinary place! Located just a few steps from the sources of the Houses, this castle is more than a haven of peace, it is a place of meeting, sharing and creation. Worn by stilts, the castle houses a th-century staircase. The buildings are superb and the area includes a 7 ha park, a vegetable garden, an orchard, meadows, an old farm, a garde, a wash house and a pigeon house. Guided tours are organized every Sunday of the month between May and September. But Cecilia de Varine organizes many other events and workshops and opens his castle to tourists, students, artists, diy! The association carries projects at the intersection of ecology, heritage and the arts, with a lighthouse value: sharing. A real poetic refuge between April and October, you can spend time on a weekend or more. The ideal place to get green!

LONGECOURT-EN-PLAINE CASTLE

This fort mansion, built in the fifteenth century, was transformed in the eighteenth century into a beautiful castle with baroque style. In the nineteenth century, other renovations were made: the dormer windows of the towers are rebuilt in neo-gothic style, the stucco in the large lounge, vandalized during passage des Prussiens are renovated in 1870, completely. During the Second World War, the castle was requisitioned by the Germans, in order to place officers and services. They are the Americans who occupied it. In 1946, the castle is listed in the inventory of Historical Monuments. It belongs to the family of Saint-Seine. The welcome from the owner, Roland of Saint-Seine, is charming. During the visit, you will discover the chapel, the vaulted cuisine, the large lounge. A journey to the time of Louis XV! The interior is stunning: stucco walls decorated marble, ceilings 7-8 metres high, sculpted, gilded. The park, lined with Burgundy, is huge. It is possible to stay in the castle: 5 rooms are designed for tourists. Authentic, large, with a beautiful antique furniture, decorated by engravings and paintings over time, they overlook the moat and the park. A magical place, out of time.
