TEATRO ÁNGELA PERALTA

Theater

Inaugurated in 1873 by soprano Ángela Peralta, the "Mexican Nightingale", this theater is an architectural gem initiated in 1871 under the aegis of architect Juan Mañón. Over the years, it has hosted zarzuelas, operettas, circuses and even boxing matches, before becoming a cinema. Its current Porfirian-style façade dates from 1915. Today, this historic venue hosts a variety of events: plays, dance performances, concerts, children's workshops, conferences and festivals such as the International Jazz and Blues and the Cervantino.
