TIENDA MAP
Read moreThis is the best of Mexico's handmade production, and for good reason: the selection was made by the Museum of Popular Art. Here, pottery and ceramics, plant creations, alebrijes, jewelry, wood, metal and leather have been fashioned by the best of the country's traditional creators. You will also find traditional clothing. A great place to support the artisans and take home quality souvenirs. For those who forget to shop in town, there is also a shop at the airport.
BAZAR DEL SÁBADO
Read moreIn this very large and beautiful colonial house, which offers a bohemian atmosphere, there are dozens of small, carefully selected shops. Here you can find beautiful handicrafts, vintage design, crockery, works of art and unclassifiable objects. And it's been going on since 1960! A small plus of the place: the excellent gastronomic proposals in the patio with traditional music (guitars, marimba) and margaritas with mezcal. A pleasant stage of colonial Mexico to be missed under no pretext.
MERCADO DE ARTESANÍAS COYOACÁN
Read moreIf you can't get enough of markets, stop by this one, which is roughly the equivalent of the Ciudadela for this southern part of the city. On two floors, you can find handicrafts from all over Mexico: dishes, baskets, or, a little less typical, tote bags and figurines bearing the effigy of Frida Kahlo (the Casa Azul is a few blocks away). As always, it is a pleasure to wander through this joyful bazaar of a thousand and one colours.
